Overall a cool DLC with:
1) A new map with 5 cities and 3 islands for land fight
2) 3-4 hour main storyline ( Haven't found any other quest yet)
3) A new character (Princess Rong) as crew member ( I haven't found a way to switch to the princess in land fight as in the video though)
4) Two types of chinese junk boats (junk and battle junk, I wonder if there are any stronger junk boats)
5) Shops with unique items and enchanted equipments (a little stronger but will disappear on ship sunk or land fight failure)
6) Chinese style ports, structures, flags and sails.

The extra ships and story missions are great! Islands are styled nicely too.
Though, the Jade Sea island cities are sparse and few in number. I would enjoy it much more if there were additional Jade Sea unque factions, cos right now there's only The Order present.

Ok so 2024 I buy and play this game with all the DLC and so far everything is great.
But dam this 2nd DLC had so much potential and barely anything was ever added to it !!
Seriously! an entire new map(area) to explore but only one faction controlling everything ?
Play this DLC and realise how much could have been added to the game....
I'll recommend it just to so you know buying it does complete the collection of everything to this game and it's not terrible, just disappointing. Explore entire Islands of nothing but SKELETONS and some few pirates and one settlement that has jack happening there....

The fighting mechanics are the worst I have ever seen in a pirate game. You need to deal with dozens of enemies that fight side by side even if they are, in theory, enemies with each other, dying instantly if you get hit and without being able to heal. Not to mention the villages that disappear and reappear on top of you causing your death and forcing you to start over.
Never forget to store your enchanted itens before landing because the enemies magically steal all of your stuff if you die in an island.

The New World map is a great addition. New ships and items are all good too.
The Chinese aesthetic is awesome as well.
The island exploration is awful.
On the islands you just spend all your time dying to pirate firing squads. It's even better when the town spawns on you and you get insta-killed by them and lose all your magic items.
You also don't heal until you run all the way back to your ship and everything resets when you do that.
The DLC is fine if you ignore all the island mechanics.
Unfortunately, you have to go to the islands to complete the quests for the story, so i can't recommend the DLC.

If you seek to buy this DLC with the intent to change your captain from male to female. You'll learn you'll end up severely disappointed.
The Princess is only available during Boarding and Land-Battles. While most may argue that 'it is the same thing', it is not.
The DLC markets itself with the impression to -change- your captain, as a form of customisation. This is not the case.
To have spent serious amount of time trying to unlock the character, going through the tedious island gameplay with nigh impossible to dodge bullets from the enemy, to then learn i was baited into the very thing i had bought this DLC for is, to say the least, severely disappointing.
The new map is rather fun. The Junker is amazing.
Half the DLC is not up to standards. Be careful when considering this DLC.

the DLC itself is good, except for when you have to eliminate the pirate camps. every single pirate has a gun and will shoot you no matter how much you dodge them. plus there's no healing mechanic and its also quite tedious to have to walk back to the camp every time you die. I reckon that this DLC just needs to be updated to be good
