Got it from preordering V2. The new dagger is not even good so why bother. The point being: RNG is not fun.

Good DLC. New maps are amazing, especially the second one. Damn, I wish I could play those maps in Vermintide 2...

What's really good about the Death on the Reik DLC is that we get two full scale maps with a full set of Tomes and Grimoires to play around with. The River Reik Map also has a new gameplay mechanic to sort of play around with as you will be delving into some 'swashbuckling' action as you fight on a boat! But- Hoo boy! The last adventure pack DLC for Vermintide had some pretty big bug exploits in Reikwald Forest - not to mention that River Reik will certainly make you work hard for your loot because of that battle on the boat! A single weapon for Sienna is available here too - but it is mostly just there for the lols and achievement moreso then anything else. Anyhow, in terms of the maps, Reikwald Forest is a walk through the wilderness - in a similar vein to Engines of War; perhaps almost too much like it though. You won't be blowing up any Skaven War Wheels here but there will be a 'push through the horde' event as well as an explosive barrel event with a mandatory tank to fight during said event. Notable the 'push through the horde event' though, you can skip it due to an exploit - heck, you can skip the entire map due to an exploit... River Reik is a bit better in terms of offering something new. Here we are walking along the River Reik trying to find a boat to pursue the 'thief' that we are tasked with catching up with. We have some interesting mechanic ides with a sort of 'foggy' bog to run through and the aforementioned boat battle I noted earlier. However, in terms of difficulty this is one tough map to deal with. One of the Grimoires to fetch is also only obtainable 'during' the swashbuckling boat battle - which includes lots of mandatory Stormvermin to deal with in close quarters.... I won't say that I don't enjoy playing these maps though - unlike Drachenfels I will do contracts for these missions when they come up if they are Hard or less (or I find a good group to play with on Nightmare. But unless you are hosting with friends I definitely consider this a DLC to avoid.

I wish there were more maps, but these two are excellent. Fatshark is not afraid to stir things up a bit.

Two very fun maps, the ships war part is quite challenging and different.

Only 2 maps but both are good and very fresh to vermintide 1. I loved the boat mission (shame we can't get wet..) and the awesome green moon sets a sick light over the maps. Fun times to be had :)

Maybe 2 of the hardest maps in the game. Forest can hit you with crazy special spawns and the boat section on River is basically a constant horde in a tight space until you finish the objective. Still very worth.

How can a promising DLC be so trash in execution? Difficulty change has also no effect on the gameplay. This DLC contains two new maps and the second map you run into boats with nonstop hordes. IF you get off the boat alive, you will be treated to 0 health pick ups (you will all have no health at this point) and then they hit you with a swarm of armored troops so you cant run to the leaving vessel. It drains your health right before the end and then wont let you heal while throwing everything at you. Pass on this one since it absolutely sucks.

Ahoy matey, time to sail the Reik in search of plunder! Well, it’s either that or die a thousand deaths upon the blood slicked decks of the rickety contraptions of Clan Skryre.. Death on the Reik is a rather compact DLC that offers up a few tidbits for your hard earned cash. We get to visit two new maps, Reikwald Forest and River Reik, both set in the gloomy and secluded forests of the Reikland and on top of that you get a chance to loot a Ceremonial Dagger for Sienna that is basically a stabby version of the flamesword. Honestly not a bad expansion considering, but I know the community is split on the boat ride down the river.. Personally I can endure the trail and consider it a harder version of the standard maps that's tried and tested, and honestly it is not that bad if you got a good group. With bots however it is a mixed bag and the blackrats can make a situation turn bad quickly if you get unlucky. Get it on a sale if more maps of Vermintide intrigues you, it is not worth it for the dagger alone..

Overrunning the players with a bunch of Stormvermins on the river is cheap and disgusting. This design makes river Reik completely a nightmare even in the easy mode.
