The enemy and there attack pattern visibility is very bad especially bosses. It is very clear the developers didn't play tested this game at all. Game is frustrating to play instead of being challenging. Should have made a visual novel instead as art in the game is good. Also they localised the game in foreign languages first and not south asian languages. They were added way later and only limited number of them. The game still doesn't even have gujrati, punjabi, malyalam, nepali, odia, kashmiri and many more south asian languages. Why are western and east asian languages given more preference instead of our own languages? The budget to localise the game in foreign languages should have spent on our own languages. Shame on the developers for this. Will keep this review negative unless they remove all foreign languages and localise in south asian languages only as well as fix the enemy attack visibility.

As a gamer, I really enjoyed Raji: An Epic Tale – Enhanced Edition. The art and music blew me away—it genuinely feels like playing through a mythological painting. The combat is fun, though it can get a bit repetitive, and the camera's a little frustrating at times. It’s a short game, but honestly, the cultural vibe and storytelling made it worth it. If you’re into games with heart and something different from the usual, give it a shot.

The game is good. The environment looking great at its size. but the main drawback is sometimes we don't connect with the story. Game doesn't tell us which character is really important, what was the purpose of the character. And the Act 3 is kinda rushed over, ending is also not clearly explained (maybe in the second part). But they can stretch the story a bit longer while introducing what was the purpose of each character. I recommend this game to every Indian game lovers, atleast try this game (maybe not a masterpiece but a great game atleast for me). Our hindu mythology is much deeper maybe we get the game based on our hindu mythology same as BMW in the near future.

No doubt about the art style of the game. The landscape and the music. Simply enchanting. I wanted to see more of that. But as pointed out by others, it falls quite short on the gameplay - perhaps not much tested. Boss Rangda - No randomness in the boss. You know what she will do and what to do about it. It's repetitive. Final boss - Just too much on my screen. I could hardly see my player sometimes. I was just spamming jump-dodge-attack and somehow finished him. I also felt that those tridents on the ground appeared before the thumping. In-between fights were also mostly wall-jump and attack. I had difficulty connecting to the poles / walls to do that. Moreover, the dialogues were lame esp. between Raji and bosses. Overall it was fun. Play it on story mode to just take a stroll through the beautiful scenery.

Beautiful visuals ruined by some of the worst frame rates I have seen in a game. Everyone seems to have the same issue so it's not a PC issue. The game is 3-4h of three very long boring repetitive levels followed by two okay-at-best short ones. Good simple introduction to stories of Hindu Gods, but the gameplay ranges from not good to mediocre. The 3D perspective makes it incredibly difficult to do basic platforming (
though the arm coming out to indicate that Raji can jump to the next pole is a great touch to accommodate for this
. Music loops are short and background ambiance is sometimes annoying like in the lotus/water level. Ending is abrupt, unsatisfying, and borderline non-existent. I am aware this game had extreme budget and time crunch issues, which probably explains the use of the same mechanics/puzzles over and over, but it's definitely not a $25 game. Hope the studio does well going forward, but either buy on sale or don't buy at all.

I think the game is visually stunning, reasonably well animated, conceptually sound and with lots of charm and personality. As a european with next to no knowledge of Hinduism, the game presents its lore and story very well, and I was actually surprised how they give you achievements for actually activating lore prompts. HOWEVER. The mechanics around gameplay are very poorly optimized. It screams to me that this game did not have sufficient playtesting because it just throws everything at you without rhyme or reason and your main strategy in combat have to spam dodges, rolling attacks and not much else. It's just that I (and most others) can barely tell when the enemies are about to do attacks, and when you have so many of them on screen with so little time to react, the game just becomes a spamfest of your best moves, which usually is using the bow's "wallrun attack" witch shoots 3 powerful AoEs mid air, and deletes most enemies in 2 full bursts. (If you go check the steam trailer on the store page here you'll see that most of the time Raji is attacking only 1 or 2 enemies with combos, and with groups of more than 2 enemies the trailer shows Raji during mid-air attacks or invibility attacks. This is because during said group fights those types of attacks are the only ones you can be doing without getting shredded by enemies.) And then the final boss... Oof... Attacks comes out earlier than they should hit, WAY too many things on screen, and a weapon that you have never used before. It is absolutely an unfair boss fight with terrible optimization. You will be spamming dodge and attack so much, that your fingers will ache from it. Hell the worst part is that Durga and Vishnu will both tell you how "You will have to use everything you learned to defeat this threat." but actually no. Like I said, you have a completely different weapon and you are fighting in a completely different way. Finally you have the platforming, which is fidgety and will lead to your demise because most of the time you can't tell if you are aiming correctly at the other side, but actually you aimed sideways, causing you to miss your jump. Or not being able to properly measure distances. Being unable to identify the correct areas to platform. It's also just not very challenging. It's sad really, you have a very well-polished environment and charming story, but the gameplay itself? Even if it looks good on paper, iy just fails the players. If this game was a person, it would be a Hindu ascetic: it's only skin and bones, with no meat on it. 5/10 - Buy it on sale, or play it on "Story mode" difficulty where you can just breeze through gameplay and check out the story.
