Similar to Guitar Hero/Rock Band with several MAJOR differences:
-You rotate around to aim and SHOOT the beats/notes
-On its own shooting not as challenging or deep as a full top down shooter, however, the music and effects make up it
-No unique plastic peripheral needed to purchase or keep (I recommend gamepad/controller)
-Do not have to contort fingers in awkward positions (do not @ me as I know guitar players may not have same issue)
-No licensed tracks, but tracks are good IMO (Smaller dev team and budget than big franchise)
-Mix of EDM and rock songs
-Background rotates and visually changes with the track to add to feeling of immersion in the music
-Good price point
So far I have played with headphones on and I have had a blast. I enjoy the soundtrack and when you are hitting the notes correctly the sound and graphics combine to make you feel like you are IN the music track.
Occasionally I found the effects distracted from playing to the beat, but overall they were great. You can also adjust light/colour changes, rotation, zoom/shake effects and colour blind mode for those concerned about any of the above.
Could be short on number of tracks for some, but I feel price is appropriate for content.
The DJ and Guitar character appearance may be a bit simple for my taste, but when the track is going I am too involved in the game and music to care at all.
The achievements may need updating as I obtained "Medium Win" but have not yet finished all levels.
I am aware it is Early Access and more tracks and features may be added. However, I dislike when reviews are based on what the game is "going to be" in the future on so my review is based on game as it is NOW.
If you are interested in music based games or a different twist on top down shooters I recommend giving this one a try!
In all reviews my comments are opinions and not a reflection on the developers hard work. I know making video games is difficult. I base my comments on if I would recommend a game to a friend. Others may disagree, have different perspectives, expectations or game preferences and that is all good.

Subjective Rating: Pass
Explanation - This would be a rating that reviewers SHOULD use. First off, this does not mean that its a bad game. In fact, a lot of these can be well-done games. What this means is, it is the WRONG game. See, the Internet can sometimes struggle with the concept that just because you don't like something, it can still have value to others. Well, I recognise this, so I understand I am not the right person to play this game. Its just not for me, I'm going to skip it. Why should I weigh in with my opinion if I'm not interested in it in the first place? Opinions are not all equal. Somebody whom this this game appeals to should play it, not me.
Reason: I was under the assumption that this is one of those rhythm games that allows me to play my own local music, but I was wrong. But I can say, because this game is very well made, I do still recommend giving this game a go. :)

Love the game and that the developer paid attention to very fine details, specially the audio feedback. I like very much that there're different music genres but tbh I preferred metal tracks. The thing I enjoyed the most is when I get used to a specific pattern for the notes, you feel like you have control of the music and not the other way around and it's just super cool. Ahh, also when you see a different note coming your way and you can expect that sth is gonna change about the beat or the melody.. once it drops, this gives a special feeling of satisfaction :D
I have few suggestions as feedback though:
- Display the name of the track and artist in the pause menu of the level
- Amp a little bit the UI feedback when playing a wrong note. Maybe add some animation at the progress bar and the combo counter up there
- Level 10 is pure seizure :D tune it down a little bit please xD

Oof. Really close to fun, but without some better mnemonic system for the colors, this is just frustrating. ESPECIALLY if you happen to have a controller that's not xbox-standard colors. A/B flipping is hopeless too, because then you just get red enemies with green icons and green enemies with red buttons which is WAY too hard to read in an already visually gnarly game.
But maybe all of that would be fine if you could read ahead a bit more? Especially with the circular pattern, this game can be a little punishing for casuals. I really wanted to like this one, but I don't think it's for me.
