Nothing but friendly interactions with people. 100% of the time. WORST thing I could imagine was saying "erm ackshualy I'm a spicy ramen noodle" when the other player was launching a barrage of insults and profanity laced rage at me, and calling me a toilet snake - though in different words. Chat banned. No way to appeal. Ridiculous.

Had such great potential but it seems like everyone has just given up on it. It is definitely a snake dominated game now. I was enjoying the game surviving as a flyer and dealt with quite a few encounters from bigger dinos even a few snakes. But I ultimately decided to uninstall this game after remembering/experiencing the snakes jumping 100's of feet high and plucking you out of the air with one bite. A lot of great potential wasted in my opinion.

Worst game ever, you will suffer multiple brain aneurysms playing this trash af game. Do me a favor and remove that thought in your head that says " Hmm looks fun, might buy" Don't! Better off playing russian roulette with a full chamber. Wish I had opened my eyes sooner instead of playing this trash for 600hrs... I came I played I raged

It feels like a good game, but the issue for me is that there isn't much to do. most servers seem like dinosaur chat-rooms where people just are hanging out as neon and glowing dinos.

Hours: 2,500+ Verdict: Not Recommended (for now) I had to really think about whether to give this game a thumbs up or down. With over 2,500 hours since before Titania released (not during Alpha, but early on), I’ve put more time into Beasts of Bermuda than into The Isle or Path of Titans. It’s been one hell of a run — learning every curve of dinosaurs, survival mechanics, PVP strategies, maps, weather, and disasters. I can’t deny it’s been fun. Over the years, we’ve seen big changes: growth rates, dinosaur skill trees, new mechanics, multiple maps, and new species. But each update seems to come with backlash, and since late 2024 the overall experience — and the community — has felt like it’s sliding downhill. I’ve played extensively on both official and community servers. The vibe is unfortunately similar: toxic is the easy word for it. The player base is now oversaturated with long-time veterans who dominate the meta. If you’re new, the steep learning curve (talent trees, inheritance, stat growth past 1.0) and tight-knit social circles make it hard to get anywhere without being singled out in PVP or ignored socially. Many servers feel closed-off unless you already know the right people or join specific Discords. Population turnover is low. There are far more people grinding hours than new players joining, and when newcomers do show up, they’re coming in at a low point for the game — often leaving quickly after a bad first experience. Official servers have minimal rules around KOS (kill-on-sight), which means they often feel like chaotic deathmatch arenas rather than true survival experiences. Semi-realism and realism servers offer better balance, but they’re few and far between — I can count maybe three truly good ones still active, and finding them usually means digging through Discords. Balance is another sore spot. Some species — like Megaraptor with its evasive maneuvers and bleed — dominate too many fights, while Palaeophis (the giant snake) feels overtuned with its stealth profile, venom pressure, and mobility. Add in infinite growth mechanics and you end up with stat-bloated dinos that warp matchups and make fights feel silly. Weather and disaster systems, while impressive at first, have grown more frustrating over time. Storms can make visibility miserable, and differences in player graphics settings can create unfair advantages. The game has been in Early Access since 2018. That’s over five years, and while we’ve had some great additions — new species, map expansions, occasional event cosmetics — core issues like onboarding, balance, and server quality haven’t been resolved. Updates in the last year have often focused on niche features rather than systemic improvements, leaving long-time players wondering where the devs are really taking the game. I love Beasts of Bermuda, and it will always have a special place in my heart. But something feels missing now — the spark is gone. The community feels tired, the gameplay loop feels stale, and the sense of excitement isn’t what it used to be. I truly hope it improves, because I hate writing a negative review for a game I’ve invested so much into. For now, though, I can’t recommend it in its current state.

Its like a mix of realism and unrealism, The abilites give the game an arcane type feeling. Truly wonderfull. Also the fact that it has a working snake just strenghens how good it is

This game is currently just not good, if you like dino games think of a community server where 50 ppl are on discord and all of them have dinos bigger then you can imagine. They all coordinate and will wait until your big enough to feed them log on and kill you. The whole server records while they play and report each other non stop and ask mods to resurect their dead dinos and in turn ban others. Mind you this is the same 50 people as there is only 1 active server with 100 people on it. Infinite growth system is real bad just play path of titans where at least you can get away from mega packs etc. The servers are real bad crash constantly, high ping I was at 140+ on the east coast server as someone on the east coast vs 35 on PoT.

Community is too afraid of new players due to the game being filled with hackers getting banned repeatedly. Community won't help new players and will just be toxic to them and accuse them of being a "ban evader". If you don't like a toxic community, don't play this game. Especially don't introduce it to your children. Game loves to lag even on newer hardware. This game will make you feel like you're playing ARK on a hard disk drive despite being on an SSD more than capable of running 'optimized' games.

This review is for EU players mostly. Don't get this game. The game is basically dead for us. There is no functional 'ping' feature for the servers and the official EU servers are mostly dead. You'll find 8/100 players on them at best. Your ping on US servers will be 200+, and that is eastcoast servers. I've tried many community servers as well, but same story there. Got this game after watching an Owltime video of him playing snake. And playing as a snake is quite amazing in this game. Almost done best in any game, ever. The game is a little like the Isle, but 30% more arcady, and both more and less punishing at the same time. I'd love to have played it when it still had a playerbase. Maybe on launch one day. On some technical levels. The audio design in this game is very poor, if you'd close your eyes and were asked the question "where does this sound come from" you'd literally never give the correct answer unless you spend 1000 hours into the game adapting to its systems. Graphics are interesting. The game does run stable on a midtier PC, but there are artifacts happening all over, there is no shadow mapping which make the game look like an impossible project build on a 2006 engine. But boy-oh-boy did I love the snake gameplay.
