Controls are way too hard, camera switches angles and you have to switch controls on how you lean. I wish I never bought this and the DLC's STAY AWAY FROM THIS!

Play the demo. It's.. not horrible, just not engrossing and really wishy-washy on physics consistency.
Get on sale, if at all. This is something for a Steamdeck or other mobile device. If you're looking for a good MTB experience for the off season, I don't think this is it.

I like this game a lot more than I expected to. Playing with an xbox controller, it has incredibly smooth controls. Tight and responsive. A nice, chill experience. Despite my many wipeouts, it does not frustrate. When you wreck (and you will), it's kind of like Celeste or Super Meat Boy ... you aren't set back very far.

Awesome game. I'm playing on keyboard and it took about 60 minutes to fully get used to controls and camera. I saw people complaining about camera. Yes, it's not your typical 3rd person camera, but it's so good fit for the game. As a game dev myself I applaud the design choice. The difficulty curve is pretty good. It's great to see the shortcuts and try the routes I will be able to take when I get better. But at the same time the standard path is neither too difficult nor boring. I am having a lot of fun with this game.

It works well and has an interesting art style. Feels like a postmodern art version of marble madness
I'm having trouble because when I close the game, it says "connecting" and freezes and won't close no matter how long I wait - have to reboot to get rid of it. Not acceptable!

This game is almost catastrophic. First of, It's a nice chilling downhill game. Environment looks nice and cozy. In some parts, it released my inner peace. But, the biggest BUT of all the big BUT, the camerawork is a disgraceful pitiful disgusting worst mechanic in video game history. Whenever my character past an object, its always got blocked, mostly trees, hill, and the worst is when there are some big branches blocking on my screen. Like, give a highlight to my character maybe when i'm behind the object, or just reduce the visibility of the object for a moment when i'm passing, so i can still see where i'm going and not get tripped over by a rock i couldn't see. And the physics not helping either, it can be inconsistent, sometimes a little tap makes me fall, sometimes not. Somehow it got worse the more i went through new trails and mountains. Especially the 4th trail in sierra rivera and mount riley. As if the camera not messed me up enough, they added sandstorm and misty fog to reduce the visibility.
Some good things i can mention is like the environment is nice, bike feels good to ride, the levels also has decent amount of variety. But thats about it.
I hate that i mostly don't like this game, because when everything goes smoothly without some problems, i enjoy this game even if i fail multiple times. That only if the fail is only because of my own mistake, not because the camera tried to give me a difficult time.

I've never seen a perfectly good game so completely and thoroughly ruined by a single design choice.
Almost everything about this game is good. It as an attractive and well thought out visual style. It has difficult but fun to master controls. It has courses that are well designed, are full of secrets, and have a good natural skill progression. It has incentives to improve that are good for motivating but not too onerous to keep you from progressing. So in basically every way, this game is great.
Except for one thing: the camera. The fact that the camera faces uphill instead of downhill ABSOLUTELY RUINS the entire game. It's impossible to see where you're going, so every rock/tree is a jump scare that makes you crash unless you have lightning reflexes or have already memorized its location. Because you have a fixed view that isn't lined up with your character's perspective, it's needlessly difficult to line up precise movement, leading to unnecessary difficulty. I never got used to it and it always sucked.
The brief sections where the camera does actually line up behind the bike are SO MUCH BETTER that it just makes me sad that the devs completely murdered an otherwise very good game. Add in an ability to have a normal 3rd person view following the bike and I would play this game way more, but as of now, it's not worth playing.
