Game is buggier than ever with the new update, guns feel weak and inaccurate and the last update told players to get fucked and told modders to also get fucked.

Honestly kind of clunky. The game feels very samey and boring real fast. Like I played twice in the span of 2 years and both times I just got repeats of the same exact gear, facing the same five enemies, in copy and pasted structures in completely different parts of the map at different player levels.
I love what the game is going for, I can see the clear inspiration in Simon Stalenhag's work, but after like the first hour it gets extremely repetitive.

I used to love this game, I completed it on PS4 some months after release, and thoroughly enjoyed it despite its buggy state back then. After revisiting it on PC now that development is complete, I yearn for those early months where you would have environmental story telling nudge you around the map. Where you'd explore, recon, plan, execute and improvise. The player was empowered by progressing and being smart or balls-y about it.
Now, it's been refactored and polished up. There's hand holding by condescending NPCs, there's nudging for a plethora of collectables which may eventually lead to so small of an advantage that it is not likely you'll notice it. The daunting but inviting map got half reworked into a frustrating mess and took away some of the best spots to farm enemies and turned it into a mud pit. More loot was added to accommodate base building, which I personally don't care for, where carry capacity was already a huge challenge.
Every choice made since release was another step away of what I loved the first months when I played this. A beautiful, atmospheric world to conquer. A feeling of dread every time you push the boundary of what is unknown. Countless memories of plans well executed, or plans gone sideways and challenges overcome. You could feel this game was a labor of love on release, now it's a labor of committee, one trying to bolt things on to try and appeal to base builders and defenders which I doubt will be convinced by it.
In the end, aside from fixing progress blocking bugs and some handy signs in the bunker to give some sense of direction in them, every other choice made since release chipped away at the rough gem Generation Zero was on release and turned it into a frustrating, player hostile turd that I cannot in good conscience recommend. Maybe with a huge discount, but even then I'd still harp on how much better it could have been.
There are mods that may remedy some frustrations, expand storage capacity, spawn experimental weapons etc. But much as chasing the next safe house, the next 5 crown loot, the full vision module in this game... I'm just chasing for that experience in the first year of Generation Zero. And not being talked down to by an NPCs I don't care about.

Fun game. I've been playing solo, but it would be even more fun if my buddy was playing as well.

Abandonware
I like the game but it is full of issues, many of which were introduced in the so called "final" update as the devs have stated that they are not going to issue any additional fixes, period.
For instance, the daily assignment reward system was broken in that "final" update. The system is supposed to reward one point for easy, two points for medium and three points for completing hard daily assignments, respectively. At this time, all assignments, regardless of assigned difficulty level, reward only one point, making it impossible to score five star reward packages and extremely difficult to score even four star reward packages without completing every single daily assignment every single day. So why even bother?
That is an obvious example of the many things broken since the "final" update, and this particular issue would likely be very easy to fix. But there is a running list of issues. Some of which can be found here:

What kind of devs just abandon a game in this obviously utterly broken state? You're telling me that they cannot spare ANY dev time to fixing this otherwise good game they have been working on for so many years now? How pathetic is that? Are they proud of this ridiculous stance?
The devs/publishers should be forced to disclaim on the Gen Zero Steam store page that the game is broken and that they don't intend to fix it.
Don't say you weren't warned.
TLDR-The game was left in a broken state and the devs don't intend to issue any more fixes. It is abandonware.

They really released a final update saying "Hi! thank you guys so much! this is our final update, no more updates to this game, we're working on new stuff! baiii!" in the description, meanwhile they changed all the crafting requirements for first aid kits and adrenaline shots (VERY basic consumables) to need an UNHINGED amount of crafting materials, not to mention weapon augments. You guys just made crafting/upgrading anything take at least 5 hours, and you dont even touch broken things that your community has been yelling about for YEARS at this point. You killed your game for no good reason, Id suggest that nobody purchase a game from these people in the future.

Well. I have completed Generation Zero. It ticks a special box for urban survival and scavenging that I enjoyed, but it is awash in problems, so unless you bear my special kind of autism, I cannot at all recommend this game. The concept carried it for me, but good lord it was worth more than a few snarled curses at the gameplay
>Low-feedback bullet sponge enemies with terrible animations, too much mobility, and incredible accuracy at extremely long distances
>Unsatisfying gunplay with weapons that feel incredibly unimpactful until you hit the very highest tiers of quality.
>Miserably broken crafting system that forces you to play a multiplayer-tuned base defense mode and yields rewards balanced for just the one player.
>A miserly skill and gear system which has such small bonuses to be almost completely ineffectual in gameplay and explains almost nothing to the player
>A multiplayer system that requires you to use up wildly expensive self-rez items in order to pick up teammates
>Unremarkable missions that often end with your character walking in a room, getting 'quest complete' and no further explanation or depth.
All in all, can't recommend for more than single-digit price purchase. I really REALLY wanted to like this one, but I can recognize my own copium too.

Good graphics, nice bicycle riding and cool robot concept but a bit repetitive, bad inventory management and nothing that grips you to the story, you get bored easily ... It's fun only for a bit.
