Solid, improvement to first game's gameplay, with less interesting presentation unfortunately. Game is more fun, vibe is a little worse.

A roguelite spin on the original SUPERHOT, except with less maps than the original, a complete rework of the engine, and a less fun game play loop. Not to mention after you beat the game if you would like to replay the game, you must wait two and a half hours for the game to "restore" your files. I highly recommend the first, but did not enjoy the latter parts of SHMCD. Fun for an hour until you see all the maps.

amazing game. the minibosses suck at first but then you get used to them. i hate that there are no extra achievements, though. also whoever created node 100 should go to a mental hospital

i dont even have to finish the game to tell you that it's mid-tier trash compared to the first game. the game gets boring after the first hour; past that there isn't much outside of a few "oh that's cool" moments. get the first game instead
i understand it has this whole morality meta-commentary on wanting more and violence, but that doesn't make a good fucking excuse for an entire game that's just a glorified endless mode of a gameplay formula that clearly isn't meant for endless. hotline miami 2 did a similar thing and is a masterpiece, no excuse here
if you are REALLY feining for superhot content, wait for a sale, because it absolutely is not worth as much as the first game (im probably still gonna finish it tho)

This feels like DLC for SUPERHOT in the best way possible, the hacks and different levels make runs feel varied without making them feel completely random, it is fun to sit and strategize what is the best way to go about things, this is just MORE of "the most innovative shooter I've played in years"

An improvement to the first game! Didn't expect it to be a rouge-like but it's an enjoyable addition (to me).

It's a rouge-like now for some reason. Instead of a unique map for each level with predictable spawns and weapons, everything is now random. It reduces repetition fatigue while gutting the puzzle solving aspects, it's necessary given how much repetition MCD has. It also makes it more punishing, as enemies can unpredictably spawn behind you with no audio cue. It isn't unfair per say, but MCD asks a lot more of the player than the first game, too much in my opinion. When you've mastered the game enough to beat it, you'll already be bored. The new weapons, exploding and red gunned enemies are nice additions. The bosses, 90% immune enemies and nerf to melee weapons are bad additions, since they restrict movement. The rouge-like upgrades (hacks) are just simple buffs to the weapons or your person, they don't encourage different play. There isn't enough depth for synergy to be possible.
Tying this together is a story that thinks it's good enough to harm the game-play, when it isn't good enough to even be told. If Super Hot's story was a boring premise with an obnoxious but interesting delivery, then MCD is the same boring premise with “a do it yourself” delivery because they couldn't be bothered… but more obnoxious. Having to wait 2.5 hours in game on a loading screen isn't clever writing, it's a bitcoin mining scam. It feels like they had nothing to add so used vague quotes to hide this fact, that isn't a joke, 80% is just vague quotes.
Lastly, they fixed none of the issues from the first game, audio cues are none existence and every bit of information is a bright screen flash wall of text.
