Wait 2.5 hours for a terrible ending for a terrible story that tries to be deep and all it does is annoy the player. WOW 1/10 game.

This game is really fun, though i haven't quite reached the finish line yet. i greatly enjoy the combat, as it's one of the very, very few games in which i can actively notice how much brainpower i'm using in order to defend against the slew of enemies. That being said, there are enemies later in that are largely invulnerable which i find to be a little much. Though i'm still in two minds about those, as i do enjoy the challenge of them in portions. pretty good game but wayy too overpriced. i got it on the steam summer sale so it was like 7 bucks. i still think superhot vr is the best game and they tried a lil too hard on the story on this game which make superhot 1 feel a lil better. still a good game though just please get it on sale (tip play music while playing its peak) 8.5 out of 10

This game combines FPS with bullet-time elements perfectly. The core mechanics of the game are simple but to really enjoy everything that game has to offer there is some grind required. I loved every minute of it. If you are deciding which one to buy, just get the the first original Superhot and then this one. I tried the first game at my friend's on a VR set and I immediately liked it. Both games feel very similar, however I liked the first one better.

Very unique premise, and as a general rule any game that messes with the passage of time only to show what it would've looked like in real time afterwards is immediately good in my book but this game surpasses that with gameplay that's genuinely fun and pretty replayable. There's also something oddly beautiful about this game but I don't really know how to describe it.

This game feels so surreal while gives you a unforgettable experience. I love this game with its uncanny finishes and the psychological story inside its own walls.

In short: this game is inferior to the first game even despite having more content, of you just want more superhot it's fine i guess but don't expect to ever beat this game while enjoying it
Full breakdown:
This is the most painful review I've had to write yet. Superhot is in my top 20 games of all time. But superhot MCD doesn't do enough justice to the original.
On a purely technical level this game is 10 times better than the original and most shooters in fact. The hacks system, the core system, the graphical glitches, the amount of weapons/throwables, new enemy types, bosses. With everything here superhot MCD sounds like a straight upgrade from the first installment.
But it just seems like the developers didn't understand what made the game so great in the first place. The story, the surreal feeling of playing superhot, the maps. I will now explain every marginally different aspect of mcd and will explain why it's worse
Maps:
MCD has a ratio of 1 map for 3 levels. Yes you spawn in the different position and with different enemies but you can only get so much variety out of a set of maps with the same weapons. And spawning in different positions every time and making it randomized is not a good thing. Superhot was so well thought out and the map design were probably one of my favourite things about the original and MCD doesn't do justice to this.
Weapons:
Yes MCD has a bigger selection but there are only 4 guns of which i would only use two, a lot of objects that you can throw, melee weapons are just reskins of one another with exceptions of katana, and the throwing knife which is the most fun weapon in the game. As you can see it's more bloated but not better.
Enemies (SPOILER WARNING):
The fungus (as i call it) that sticks to walls and blows up, the regular and infected red guy and the invincible bosses. Might have missed one but the actually unique enemies are either so rare or even if you get lucky they just come of as nothing short of a gimmick.
The story (minor spoilers but there is not much to even spoil):
The story takes a backseat and it's just disappointing, the ending is even more terrible, it's just a line of text.
Make your own conclusions but i for sure made mine. My only thought after finishing to write this review is the fact that i could've bought a can of monster and a bag of chips for this money and have gotten much MORE out of it.

While the game is good and enjoyable for a time, it only is that way until they toss at you new enemies with new abilities and that literally cannot be killed. Having a strong enemy you can defeat feels fair, having a strong enemy that literally refuses to die is bullshit.
I do appreciate the refinement in mechanics and abilities, but new enemy times don't become harder, they become increasingly annoying to deal with. It's more a test of patience than a test of skill.
