W game, don't get discouraged at the start because you will get killed so many times without even seeing anyone. That still happens no matter how many hours someone has on the game, just keep joining games and acting like you would in real combat, like sticking to cover and following your squad leader, and you will get a lot better really quickly. This is probably the best ww2 game out there, worth the money.

Do you like Battlefield? Imagine if moving in it was so slow that even Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, Red Orchestra 2 Rising Storm, Post Scriptum Squad 44, Project Reality, and Hunt: Showdown are all faster. Now imagine that that slow speed was an Increased movement speed from a prior update, that players of the game collectively demanded should be nerfed even more for "realism," "immersion," and "milsim" purposes. So now it is even slower, and the jogging animation no longer feels like it is moving at the speed it should be. Ever. — To make the game slightly less miserable, Set Hold Aim On and Hide FPP Bullets/Tracers Off Or Showing them to On (Whatever lets you see your own tracers, test with the Thompson), and get voice chatting with X (Command), C (Squad), and V (Proximity). It and flicking the mouse are all you will have here. Follow tactics from Battlefield and Rising Storm 2, such as binding Melee to MMB/the Scroll Wheel Click, Crouch to Left Alt (You will be toggling it a lot), Prone to Ctrl, and Spotting and Pings to Z key. Some of these align with RS2 settings, but have a few preferential changes for ergonomics included. Set Postprocessing as low as you can go. Nameplate Occlusion (By Objects/distance) varies to preference. Dead Body Despawn Delay, as low as you can to be sure they can't get up later. For audio, Voice Volume Max, Microphone Volume at 50% since it's actually logarithmic; 50 is its 0 value on an integer scale. According to Vivox documentation, anything above +20 or +25 (70% to 75%) runs the risk of being ear violating. With this, you might find a shred of Battlefieldish gameplay in it. Otherwise, Keep Moving; You're Taking a German OP somewhere else.

Great game with huge potential. It's just a shame that cheaters ruin all the fun :( At the moment the game is literally UNPLAYABLE due to the number of cheaters.

It's a great game when it runs. HLL has glitches. Half the time the game wont load into a server unless you leave it running for a while to allow the resources to load in. The other half of the time the mic wont work and is glitched. It's not your PC, it's not your internet connection, and it's certainly not your mic, because every other fucking game on steam will run fine on an I9, 32 gig ram, SSD, and a RTX 3080; I can boot Squad, Rising Storm 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ready or Not, Six days in Faluja, Seven days to Die, GTA4, and the rest in ultra graphics settings without any issues regarding servers or mics. Try to load HLL a few times and the damn game always freezes on the loading screen and then "fails to connect to server". They will give you a million and one ways to change everything about your internet settings and game files, and it NEVER works for anyone. What they absolutely refuse to do is update the fucking game to fix these blatant PC version issues. But it's a lot of fun on the off chance, off day, and miracle you get it working because you allowed it to sit and run for half an hour before trying a server.

Not much fun. You typically just die, without even knowing what hit you. You cant see anything, and then suddenly you're dead and have no idea how or why. Realistic? Yes. Boring game? Also yes. Also, the game menu barely works with a controller. Not worth the $50 price tag, in my opinion.

I've tried to come back to this game three times and I just can't anymore. I love the mechanics, the theme and the core gameplay. Less arcade nonsense and more focus on Squad-like tactics is exactly the kind of team based game that I want to play. However, after many years there are still basic core issues. The game demands officers and commanders yet its the worst experience. Objectives are so accessible that it feels like I'm playing against the Vietcong most games. Players would rather charge points rather than play defense, making "cap races" (two sides trying to capture points simultaneously) the norm. The game doesnt need new features. It needs a basic retool to the gaming loop. Maps need funnel points to force actual battle lines. Officer roles should be fought over, not avoided. There needs to be a basic retool of the basic gameplay loop.

Its a great game, i just lost interest in it super fast. The gameplay loop can get so boring as you end up not doing a lot. Respawn, die, respawn again, and maybe get a kill. I might be simply inexperienced enough to enjoy the game but it got stale pretty fast for me.

Listen, I love this game. I'm having a great time... When it works. Their server is clearly in someone basement and their forgot about them. From the time I launch the game to the time I can enter a server and play, it's minimum 30 minutes. every single time. I will get the "Lost connection to host" the first time I join a server, no matter which one. IT's like the game want to tease me or something. Then I can join a game and play (Maybe). Sometimes I will load in and will get stuck in the join unit screen. I'll click a unit and nothing will happen. I'll try to create one and will get stuck on the create a unit screen. I've been trying to play for an hour today and Can't because of bad server. And no, it's not my connection, I have no issue with any other game. Not only is this annoying, It's been going on for years. A quick google search show that people have been having those issues for at least 2 years, yet the team don't fix anything. Stop teasing me and let me the god damn game

To play the game you have to join a server from a list and all the official servers are dead (no one ever joins them). The ones that are active are all owned by people with control complexes. I join a server that is mostly full and all the squads with any open positions are are locked so instead of waiting around for someone to leave an unlocked squad I figure I'll just create a new squad, no big deal. Instantly kicked by an admin for violating terms of the server....seriously the rules are you have to be level 25 to click a button and create a squad so I CAN JUST PLAY? Screw that. I join another server...this one only had one squad with a free spot, a recon squad. Oh cool, that means I get to be a sniper...nope apparently you have to be level 50 to play that role on that server. I was instantly warned and threatened with being kicked. Unreal. The community will kill this game. I've played WWII FPS my entire life starting back when Day of Defeat first came out, I know how to play these games and work with a team to meet objectives and fill different roles. This game seriously needs a way to auto queue into an active server that doesn't restrict people from just playing the darn game.
