Not a fan of that squishy dumb unfunny boring game, even the graphic is old like GTA San Andreas. -10/10 Points

I am an avid lover of Werewolf the Apocalypse the TTRPG, I have players weekly for a few years now with friends. And I love the concept of this game and how if brings the setting to life. The story is not anything special really from the few hours I played it. But you need to either Embrace the Beast and say to hell with the way they are trying to push you to play and slam your head into a wall for hours, or have incredible patience and a willingness to savescum. Each individual space within an active map is treated like it's own cell and if you screw up once and get seen, either you are reloading from the last checkpoint or you are in a fight, mostly with some special enemy that takes a good chuck out of your health and respawning minions that can stunlock you. There is no recovery. If you leave that specific room, the enemies will stay in that alerted state permanently until you return and they will remain in place and immediately resume searching for you the second you re-entered as if no time passed at all between you leaving and returning.

I think this game gets more criticism than it deserves. My view might be different if I was coming into this from the other things in the franchise (previous games, the tabletop RPG, etc.), but as someone who had never even heard of the franchise before playing this game, I found it enjoyable. Yes, the combat does get a little repetitive, the story isn't deep, and the characters are fairly one-dimensional... but dammit, there's charm to just shifting into lupus form and stalking around, sabotaging things, silently taking down enemies... and there's a LOT of fun to be had in transforming into a big beautiful crinos (werewolf) and smacking the ever-loving sh*t outta some c*pitalists while protecting your friends from corruption and greed! The graphics aren't mind-blowing, but they're damn-good for this sort of game. The crinos models are done surprisingly-well, the lupus (normal wolf) forms are great, and the movement of the models actually feels quite natural. There's three difficulty levels, with Normal being the middle option. I played through on that because I'm by no means a "gamer" anymore, and it gave me enough challenge and forced me into some do-overs that teased my patience without ticking me off. My total playtime after getting through a third of the game, then restarting and going until the end, was about 20 hours, so there's at least 10-15 hours of content in the game. It is very story-driven, so the replay value may not be all that high, but it was great fun and I'd give it an overall positive review. I got it when it was on sale for so little, that I'm going to buy the DLC just to throw a little more support their way.

Unexpectedly nice game, old school style and fights like in The Wolverine game. Great on SteamDeck. Only problem that doesn't ask you that you cannot came back and finish side quests if you chose main story and move to another location
Take Your Cub to Work Day
Key features

Sniff plants to level up,
Casual & simple combat,
Buy only during sales
Born to awoo Werewolf TAE is alright. I got it during big sale for £2 (I think) and it's well worth that. I'm not impressed with its stealth, it's just boring and although you're encouraged to use crossbow (the only weapon here), it's pretty much useless due to its low ammo capacity. You can't move or eat bodies either. It's best to fight in the open. However, the combat isn't exciting either. The game builds up flashy combo chain, but it's meaningless. No smooth body lock or movement between, no various take-downs as in Batman series, it's all about hack'n'slash. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3465546910 High combo doesn't even increase hit damage. All you have to do is dodge and mindlessly spam attack. However, you totally can grab an enemy and beat another one with it. Or, hold a human and smash him in a jump against others. Fun times! Later on there will be a lot more enemies, some hurt you with silver bullets, arenas spit out mechs with flamers and humans get shields. So, a bit of prioritisation is required. But... by that time you're so damn over powerful (if you bothered finding plants and devour them), that easily can ignore all "lethal" attacks and just exploit one move (I was using triple claw slash). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3466129608 But bosses... I liked second part of the game more. It's in desert and there are tougher enemies with cool skeleton spirit. Battle versus twin wolves and weird abomination as if straight from Resident Evil made me glug down previously not needed alcohol to boost rage meter. And then it was the same scenario - they weren't able to counter the same attack spam. Enjoyable game overall, but having completed the story and with 14hrs - there's zero replayability for me. Grab during sales and bark at them guards!

This game is an unpolished gem. When you play it, you can tell a lot of love and thought went into the lore and plot of the game. The only issue is there are some parts of the game that could easily have been fixed if the QA team(s) actually did their jobs and report the bugs found (animation clipping during combat, occasional freezing due to "time slow" animations, NPC interaction camera angles off once). This game is defiantly worth getting at the $2.99 sale price. Just a shame more thought wasn't put into it
