I really like the destruction part and how the buildings fall, sets it apart from the other games.

Catharsis thy name is Mason. This is one of those games you play when you want to just break something. The games "levalution" mechanic makes everything destructible. Every building can be collapsed, blown up, and knocked over in spectacular fashion.

One of the best video games I've ever played. RemarStered is fair, driving and destroying is all I need.

Seems like a splendid game. Unfortunately, it's completely unplayable. The first level won't load on the Remaster without crashing "CreateTextured2d failed". The Steam Edition's lighting and shadows are completely broken, and it hurts to look at. Sometimes it's a completely black screen.
No issues with my systems, everything is updated, etc.

This gets a hard pass from me. Very, very frustrating to play. The destructible environments are super fun. Except the second you're spotted or cause a dent to the property, infinite respawning enemies appear. As such, you can't really ever have fun with the game's underlying mechanics.

The destruction is great and driving past the wreckage later and remembering exactly how it happened. The collapsed buildings tell a story. Maybe it was a mission gone wild, or just me messing around with remote charges and a truck.
It’s like leaving behind a personal trail of chaos. The map becomes a memory of all the stuff I’ve blown up, also Mars is a cool setting.

Brings the chaotic fun of the original 2009 cult classic into the modern age with a fresh coat of Martian dust. It’s not a complete overhaul, but it does polish up the best bits—and those bits mostly involve blowing things up in spectacular fashion.
Pros:
Destruction Physics Still Shine: The Geo-Mod engine remains the star here, allowing for unmatched environmental destruction. Whether you're leveling buildings or creating tactical entrances, the game rewards creativity.
Open World Freedom: The map of Mars is expansive and largely sandbox-oriented. You can take on missions in multiple orders or simply roam the red landscape looking for havoc to wreak.
Upgraded Visuals: While not cutting-edge, textures, lighting, and resolution improvements (including support for 4K) make the world look sharper and more vivid than ever.
Satisfying Gameplay Loop: Missions are varied enough to keep things fresh, and the mixture of guerrilla tactics and all-out action is still thrilling.
Cons:
Outdated Mechanics: AI behavior, mission structure, and movement can feel clunky and remind you of its 2009 roots.
Repetitive Side Content: Some of the activities wear thin quickly—liberating sector after sector can begin to feel like ticking boxes.
Thin Storyline: The narrative is functional but not particularly compelling. Don’t expect deep character arcs or emotional hooks.
Limited Multiplayer Appeal: Though it's included, the multiplayer doesn't hold much weight compared to modern standards.
