Absolutely love this game, but have to mention that it is unfinished in some ways (last I played anyway). The main two things I remember being unfinished were (1) some of the dialog is missing voice lines and (2) the story line for
Aadit
. The first of these isn't a HUGE deal for me, just kind of ruins the immersive experience. But the second one is a big deal. I don't regret playing the game, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't extremely bothered by
Aadit's story line being what it is, especially considering he is a love interest (and more specifically, was my chosen LI lmfao)
. I know that there are rumors (or maybe it's confirmed by the devs, idk, that
Aadit's story will be further continued/explored in future installments
and that's awesome but it's not really acceptable to me. At the end of the day, my Portia character will forever be someone who was
literally abandoned by their life partner and fahter of their child
which is just not something I should have to say in a comfy slice of life type game like this lmfao. Still, loved the game. And worth playing simply for the lore before playing Sandrock IMO because Sandrock is genuinely one of the best games in this category that I've ever played. The characters, the story, the environment, the soundtrack... I won't ramble about Sandrock in my Portia review but trust me it's AMAZING and I will forever be 'in love' with Fang lol.

I really, really want to like My Time at Portia. It has all the hallmarks of a game I would enjoy: crafting things, digging very large holes, and at least one bright pink cat. Unfortunately, it just feels unfinished. I played MTaP back when it was fairly new and didn't have much of the voice acting sorted. I assumed with time, the localization errors would be fixed and the voicing would be finished. Alas! I've only encountered a few lines of dialogue that were unvoiced, but it sort of ruins the immersion when it happens. And there are a lot of grammatical errors, despite the devs saying they don't need any additional help with the English localization. Some of the problems are as simple as changing a single word to match what the voice actor said, and you'd think stuff like that would have been polished out by now. The gameplay feels fine so long as you stick to gathering. Mining feels okay, but once you have to use the jetpack you start to notice a bit of jank. Combat? I pretty much stopped playing once I encountered combat. I get the impression that the developers have moved on to bigger and better -- namely, their third game in the series. I won't be purchasing the sequels unless there are some major changes with how the games are released. I'm not interested in buying games that are only 50-75% complete and won't be updated beyond game-breaking bugfixes. Abandoning a game to immediately release yet another 50-75% finished game isn't my jam. Make one polished gem. Give it the love it deserves. MTaP could have been great! Instead, it just made me miss Stardew Valley.

If you enjoy similar games like stardew valley, coral island, etc., you will LOVE this. it has a little something for everyone and I love how many possible relationships there are. The main storyline is a lot of fun, but you can also pick up side quests however frequently you'd like (up to one per day). There is a natural progression, but it doesn't feel overwhelming and you can take things at your own pace. Also there are so many fun events and shops that are unique to this game and really set it apart from the others. Highly recommend !

This game bears a resemblance to Stardew Valley, but instead of focusing majorly on raising a farm, you are tasked with building various structures and gadgets. Its various characters, missions, and story lines kept me interested in the game. That being said, My Time at Portia isn't all that perfect. There are times audio files didn't play properly, and the game would stutter even at the lowest settings. Overall, while My Time at Portia isn't a flawless game, it still entertains and is worth playing.

Too me this is similar to a 3D Stardew Valley but it definitely has a nice long story line and it's own charm. I wanted a farming and crafting game, came upon this, and have not regretted it at all. Some might find it a little grinding, but I'm enjoying building all the different things to complete the main story line but also getting to know the citizens of Portia and helping make Portia a better town. There's always something to be doing and it isn't necessarily difficult, being very forgiving to the players, which is good for people like me who struggle with dying.... a lot. If I have any complaints with the game, it's some of the interactions. To me, they sometimes take too long, but it's not dreadful so the game is still highly enjoyable. If you like a story rich, majority voice acted, and highly interactive game, this is the game for you!

Its very slow but has promise. I'd say dont buy this game but maybe try the demo of the newest game. Story of Seasons and stardew valley is much better. Especially for the price.

This game is really so good. I've never expected to be playing it for more than 100 hours but it looks like i did and it's worth it. This game is worth even $60 since it's filled with lots of content, side missions, photo collectibles, etc. I really liked the story, loved every single characters and also i got married in this game and got 2 beautiful kids. It's really good for people who would want to have a family and have kids too. This is one of the best game i ever played and i can't even talk enough on how good this game is. The only thing i didn't like was that it's very grindy and also it takes so much time to craft items. Also to LVL up, it takes quiet the amount of times but i love it. I recommend this game to people who likes to play Life-Sim game.

Unfortunately there are a ton of bugs, and the devs move on to other games, rather than fix them or add more content. It's fun for a couple of hours, but beyond that, it gets frustrating, and eventually just boring. Way too much $$ for a game that doesn't get updated or refreshed in any way. Stardew does a much better job for a fraction of the price.
