great game, interesting missions, perfect to play with friends, only downside is that it lacks late game content. You finish quests and that's it.

Super fun game when u have friends to play with!! Although that shark is annoying and the hogs that ram you sideways. Definitively fun if u have a gf that likes to decorate while u collect supplies!! lol

I still recommend this game, even though it has lots of flaws. Why? Because it is enjoyable, so I guess it prevails. HOWEVER, I need to be clear that I ONLY recommend it if you play in multiplayer or if you intend to cheat in single player. Otherwise, single player without cheats: the game is too tedious. Not a single moment of respite, you run everywhere all the time without pause, because everything constantly lacks resources (including your thirst/hunger that deplete REALLY fast). Anyway, now regarding the gameplay... The game is enjoyable, that's why I still recommend it (even though I feel sorry that it is hard-as-hell / impossible to survive as a vegan). And maybe it's better with a friend, by the way. But there are still lots of bugs, poor design decisions, etc. and unrealistic aspects (probably because doing otherwise would have been too difficult -- my wild guess). An example of some things that they could have added/changed: eating right from the inventory (seriously... basic feature!), automatically using items from chests when building/crafting (i.e. when you're not on an island) (also a basic feature!! not 100% realistic, but extreme quality of life improvement), allowing to pause the game when driving a snowmobile (for some reason, you can't), not remembering the previously selected "play style" (solo or allowing friends to join), pooly located "delete savegame" button, recipients (glass, clay bowl) are destroyed upon finishing your drink (for some reason...), you can get stuck in some places, you can't retrieve a foundation / flooring / wall that you laid down, and many other things I forgot (e.g. why can't you have a rain collector ffs?? you must wait until the VERY endgame stage to get a somewhat automated water purifier or proper tools or a remotely actionable anchor, etc.) Also, it would have been great to fall sick because of the rain or something. Or having issues because of too much sun exposition. It would force you to add roofs to your raft, and/or to dry up in front of a campfire. And also it could have filled the "thirst" meter, because even though you probably can't drink one liter of water just by opening your mouth in the rain, it would still make sense that it allows some hydration. There are also many unrealistic bugs, like you can build things that will stay "afloat" even after removing what's linking them to the raft (foundations, or even complete floors if you use horizontal beams and then remove the supporting pillars). And that's just the surface of it. You can go in the North Pole bare-feet and with just some shorts and a tee-shirt. For some reason you require a grappling hook to pick up a stone from the sand or a piece of scrap or even a clam (iirc), which really is a pain to do. You don't suffer any issues when going 100 meters underwater with zero protection. Well, you get the gist. This game is littered with bugs and unrealistic aspects (and physics) and it also suffers from poor UX decisions. But it still remains an enjoyable game that I advise you to play IF and only IF you can play in a team or you intend to cheat in single player. Otherwise, this game really is way too tedious, you can't enjoy your rafting experience with serenity. You constantly have to run everywhere to gather scarce resources, fight off the shark every 5 minutes, etc. Also, reorganizing the raft is a REAL PAIN (and costs a lot of resources as you lose 33% to 50% of resources when you destroy a raft element). My ultimate feeling is that the game would need some serious polishing: getting blueprints earlier, getting more wood/plastic for basic foundations, quality of life improvements (e.g. allowing to build a "wood stack"), having to wear wool clothing in the North Pole, etc. It was enjoyable, but I believe it could have been way better! If Steam allowed it, I would have given a 12/20 rating. Lastly, this game contains light woke aspects. Not openly, but subtly. I don't have any beef (at all!!) against the global warming scenario, as it is indeed a fact and therefore it is quite welcome that this topic is dealt with in this game. OTOH, in the "ecologist" theme, it can be REALLY hard (if not plain impossible) to survive Raft as a vegan (which I am IRL). No milk, no leather, no eggs, no wool, no fishing (ergo no spices / curcuma from the tradepost!!), no killing the Shark or any other animal for that matter... Yeah, very very hard. And it is actually totally impossible as two fights REQUIRE you to kill animals (but, for vegans, it might be okay to exceptionally kill animals if you really don't have any other possibility and their life depend on it, so I guess it would still validate the vegan run, but still very difficult, more that it has to be anyway). A more concrete PC aspect in this game, is the "evil white people" narrative. All enemies are white, either wealthy corporates or military. Plain and simple. The "evil russian military dude"... yeah... speak about originality. Even amongst unlockable characters (they don't change anything to the gameplay), the only two white people are an ugly deadbeat bald dude who knows nothing apart "lifting weights", and a tomboy conceited corporate arrogant woman (who can't help at all on the raft, story-wise). All non-white unlockable characters are down-to-earth, cool and collected, young and pretty, very knowledgeable. Even amongst NPCs that we read the stories about: the only white dude is a schizophrenic madman (not a bad person per se, but not in his right mind...) Given so many red lights, I can't believe this is just a coincidence. I don't particularly mind, but it is hard not to notice anyway, so it's worth mentioning.

This was the worst coop experience me and my friends had in any game 1/10. We've played for 15 hours from start to finish in one sitting. The level design is dogshit. The quests are dogshit. The progression is dogshit. You need to GRIND so many resources.(thankfully there is an inventory dupe) Also the wind is always blowing away from islands that you need. This game might be fun exclusively in creative mode. Just play subnautica with coop mod instead.

Raft is an absolute blast, especially with friends. The mix of survival, building, and goofy chaos—like scrambling to fend off a shark while someone accidentally sails the raft away—is both fun and hilarious. Whether you're crafting your floating fortress or fishing trash out of the ocean while joking around, it's a perfect game for shared laughs and unexpected adventures.

I jumped into this game before the final chapter was out — back when we were all young and full of hope. 😄 It says you can play with 2 people, but honestly? Get at least 4. Trust me, the chaos and laughs increase exponentially. The game kept getting better with each update, and it's one of those rare co-op games that actually makes you feel smarter (or at least like you're trying to be). Perfect for game nights, snacks, and shouting things like “WAIT, I THINK I GOT IT!” Now... about that final chapter. It kinda just went poof. Like the devs ran out of coffee and said, “Yeah, this’ll do.” Not terrible, just... underwhelming. Still, if you're looking for a fun, brain-tickling adventure with friends, this game’s a solid pick. You’ll argue, laugh, and maybe even learn something. Like who in your group should never be in charge of reading the clues. 😂

Raft — an unexpectedly brilliant co-op survival game! I played it both solo and with friends — and in both cases, it was incredibly engaging. Solo is a true challenge: it’s all up to you, and every small victory feels well-earned. But in co-op? That’s a whole different adventure. Laughter, teamwork, shared responsibilities — one builds, another fishes, the third fights off the shark. Pure fun. What amazed me most is how the game balances calm and chaos: one moment you’re enjoying a peaceful sunset on your raft, the next you’re scrambling to survive a storm or cook your last piece of food. Raft isn’t just survival — it’s exploration, story, and a ton of unforgettable (and often hilarious) moments. Highly recommended — especially with friends. But even solo, it’s 100% worth it.

There is a lot of stuff I liked about this game, but in the end I cannot recommend it now that I have finished the story. The premise of the story is good, but it turns out to be really lackluster. The ending is not satisfying at all, I would even say it is bad. There is not much progression in the game, everything is a chore since the beginning and you don't really unlock many things until the end that make at least some of the stuff automated. And finally there is no incentive to play the game after the main story, but you unlock some really useful recipes after the story, so there is no point in making and using them.

--The positives-- - its a lot of fun - The first playthrough will be chaotic and you will learn things that makes the second and ongoing playthroughs even more fun, especially for those that like to beautify. - should be enjoyed in coop - enjoyed the puzzles and "parkour" elements - beautiful soundtrack - Love the raft building and beautifying mechanic - Awesome art and world design --The negatives-- - The game is really bad at explaining its mechanics, which are also not always intuitive - on easy, the survival mechanics are okay, but already on "normal" they become frustrating - Tools have a durability mechanic, which seems stupidly low for some tools, like the showel for example or the metal speer. - my biggest gripe is with the tool progression. mild spoilers: Only after the finally will you unlock the highest tier of tools, but the game is already over and there is no other objective, no end-game content that could keep you engaged, other than your own decision to keep sailing the sea. - This game really needs a new game+ mode -
congratulations, you killed the shark. Your peace will only last a minute though until the next one comes. Same with the bears. Respawntimers are wayyy too low. Wouldn't be too bad if your speer would atleast last a bit longer, but noo...
- not really negative, but the game defaults to "normal" game mode, which is frustrating and way too hard for the first run. After retarting on "easy", which is already challening enough, i started to have fun. --Summary-- I had a lot of fun with this game. Some game design decisions should be reworked, like durability and the tool progression, but seeing that its not really being developed further anymore, those will most likely remain dreams. Buy it during a sale, invite some friends and you will have fun for a couple of nights, but it wont replace your default games. For me, it has lost its novelty after three runs, your milage may vary.
