Literally coke, have played this game 40 hours in and have only beaten the game three times with the three characters and up to the watcher and not even up to Ascension. Still really fun to play despite losing a bunch.

This game is a gem in the roguelike deckbuilder genre.
You have the option to choose among 4 different classes which come with their own unique mechanics and loops of dealing damage or blocking.
The card drafting is challenging as it makes you craft a balance between early game survivability and late game scaling.
The relics obtained throughout the run are also pretty interesting, some of which you can draft your cards around.
The random encounters also have a good mix of risk and reward.
Daily mode mixes different rulesets for a unique playthrough every day.
And for those seeking a challenge, ascension mode makes things trickier one step at a time.
The only downside is the lack of variety in the elites and bosses which can make the game feel stale sometimes.

I'm fine with rogue-lites. I'm fight with difficult games. If you're going to include health bars, and have them function a certain way for 99% of the mobs, don't make them a gimmick on boss fights. Don't make it so that I defeat the boss and two minions, have 9 health left, and then the boss (with no status effect to suggest it), comes back to life at 300 health with a 40+ damage move ready to fire off. That's not how any other mob in the game operates, and it's not a skill issue. It's a cheap gimmick to make the game harder just so you can say it's hard. If health bars aren't a finite number, don't use them. If you're going to use them but ignore them, the rest of your game is pointless because it has no rules.

I've had 40+ hours of enjoyment (so far) and I'm satisfied with the game.
It's interesting to try building some unusual build for one of the heroes.

While not as hopelessly addicting as other roguelikes ive lost myself in, and despite some heavy balancing issues in builds and enemy difficulty, Slay the Spire is pretty delightful, and I enjoy opening it for a new run pretty frequently. Silent Gang rise up!

Slay the Spire design is fundamentally flawed. As someone with a lot of experience in card games, I can tell you that pretty much all of your losses will not feel deserved or fun.
You have three types of cards: attack, armor, and special effects. Generally, when you're about to get hit, you want to weaken the enemy and armor up. When an enemy uses the turn to buff, you want to play special effects and attacks. The problem is that you will often find yourself in situations when RNG is not in your favor. The boss casts a buff - here is a full hand of cards that give you armor. Oh, now it attacks and can damage you by 75% of your max HP - too bad, no armor for you this turn.
Some bosses are extremely unfair to specific deck types. For instance, you decided to play a defensive deck, but the boss gets a permanent buff to his attack for each armor card you use. Or another one that starts every turn with the attack that can almost one-shot you, and the only way to weaken it is to deal damage. You built a cool Silent deck that can play up to 20-30 cards per turn, and the final boss is Time Eater, who automatically finishes your turn every 12 played cards. The game is just full of these mechanics and gimmicks that screw you over. They are not a challenge to overcome, most of the time you simply lose and start all over again. With runs lasting up to 2 hours, it's just plain disrespectful to the player's time.
On top of that, Slay the Spire barely has any depth. The game offers very limited agency over the course of a run, and when it does present some choices, it is usually something like: 1) "Bad"; 2) "Terrible"; 3) "Somewhat decent". One might argue that it's an illusion of choice. You will experience most of the worthwhile content within a couple of runs per character. After that, I personally see no reason to continue.

I don't like it.
Hot take, I know.
Zero overall progression, I realized what the perfect deck would be on my very first run, made it on my first modifed run (just starting deck choice), absolutely melted everything with ease.
From that point on, it's just feels like a slot machine, start a run, see if you get something viable, repeat.
I LOVE Inscyption btw, this is not it, much shallower and less interesting.
Gambling is not my thing (thank God), so this and Balatro are really not for me.
Guess I'm sick of rougelikes in general, it's fine if there's good permanent progression (like Hades), but this, no.
Basically, you're better of getting this on mobile to do a run when you're waiting for the doctors appointment or whatever, on PC, there are much better ways to waste time.
If you enjoy slot machines, you'll love it to bits, otherwise, maybe play something more traditional.

As a roguelike deckbuilder, this game is one of the best that you are gonna find. The game is simple but feels fun and rewarding when you pull off your thought out combos. Plenty of variety between playable characters and respective cards. Although its a game that i didnt feel drawn out to, i still put almost 20h into it and finished runs with multiple characters. You can tell that there was a lot of thought and work put into this game to make it the most fun and complete product possible.

Strong game play loop with an limitless skill gap which relies on knowledge of the game.
Never is there a time where I play this game and don't feel like I'm getting better at it.
Base game alone offers hundreds of hours of playtime; in addition steam workshop supports modded content for this game.
If you don't already own this game, what are you waiting for?
Comentario Analítico: "Slay the Spire"
