Tl;dr performance is bad, controls pretty clunky, hasn't changed in years but maybe they'll change it for me ^_^ I bought the game a few years ago and couldn't run it, but I can't blame the game because I had a horrible "gaming laptop" that was at best a desk warmer. I bought the game again, with a "new" computer (it's 3 years old) with a solid 3060 TI and I7 11th gen CPU, and I still cannot run it. Technically I can, I was getting above 60 FPS, but frame time themselves were all over the place, my GPU temperature was skyrocketing and the game would just randomly freeze. I tried turning down the resolution back to 1080p, graphics were ALREADY at the minimum, and I set a framerate cap at 60 to mitigate temperature rising. Cool, I solved the problem (although it's already an issue that the game struggles with performance on a relatively beefy card) but there's a new one: the controls A person with anger issues could not play this game seriously with the controls being clunky majority of the time, and it's not helped when majority of people playing the game struggle with framerate regardless - meaning there's an even harder delay between your actions (that can have severe consequences regarding rating) and the choppy response of the game hurling your meal across the room. I had a lot of hope for this game, I was disappointed but re purchased the game years later not only with a better computer coming in, but also a better mindset on how the game functioned. somehow it's worse? maybe not actually it's probably just how I remember the controls but to me it's like I accidentally opened a beta branch. I understand if the controls are "part of the game's difficulty" but it already spikes a lot more with difficult dishes that the controls get in the way of what you want to do, that's not how a game mechanic is supposed to work. maybe in some other game a character "takes over your controls and you have to fight against it" but this is a cooking game bro why is it so badddd I want to come back to this game (again) seeking for OPTIMIZATION. It shouldn't be that difficult, it's a small play area that can easily have backface culling on every surface or rehashing and optimizing food meshes, and maybe then i'll see the joy in the controls being a difficult to master type of system. but for now, playing at a substantially smaller resolution and lower framerate just to play the game isn't a good sign of a good game.

It really has a lot of bugs as other players have said in the reviews section. It needs to be adjusted and others, but now I think it can stay like this if part 2 comes out, I will struggle to finish it but with these bugs and the fact that the character moves extremely hard I don't think so, it's very frustrating and it's hard to learn this game! I would like to like it more but I don't think more than now, but I think it's worth a chance, don't buy all the dlc just the game itself the first time then if you like it get everything! i really love the concept of this game with 100 hours played i would not refund because i still hope the dlc to this game and the game itself will be in a playable state some day. but after 5 years and version 6.1 the options menu dose not work and it started saving over other saves so i lost some save on the pizza dlc. also when i try to just do the load tutorial steps to see if i can skip ahead it freezes and have to alt f4 to escape. yes i'm still stuck in the tutorial all my playtime comes from logging in every 6 months to see if the game is fixed yet, but it seems to be getting worse. the game still gets updates mostly adding new stuff to the suchi dlc which won't let me pick up sushi that has fallen of the plate and other bugs like the radio that still happening. The company wants to make a new game with MULTIPLAYER the most requested thing the community has asked for but, they need to get the game in a playable state first before adding more players. after this long i don't think they will fix the dlc which is the best part of cooking sim and this makes me really sad because love this game and want it to be better. would spend more time and money if i could, but would not recommend this nightmare to anyone until fixed.

This game is hard. I purchased it discounted with the Food Network add on. It is worth the price discounted but I would of been mad if I paid full price for this game. I may not be the best in the kitchen in real life and this game is even more stressful than real life. The controls are wonky and if you don't mind repetitive dishes being made and things break and get dirty quick. This game had me rage quit several times. I only played it off and on for a couple days. Never rage quit but this game made me mad. If you choose to buy it have fun!!

Love blowing up the gas cans in free play mode and just messing around in general in free play. Highly recommend if you love cooking games, it simulates a fun cooking experience for everyone.

I watched a video from "Let's Game It Out" about this game, and I don't know why, but being able to cook a filet mignon while also capable of burning and blowing up propane tanks just tickled my pickle. 10/10
