If you love cooking and are looking for a realistic game, look no further than this! This is the best cooking sim I've ever played. I literally don't know what else to say!!

Cooking Simulator is a fun and sometimes a funny experience—I definitely had my share of laughs while playing. The chaos that unfolds in my kitchen at least, is part of the charm. The only real downside I ran into (at least when I played) was the awkwardness of cutting ingredients—it didn’t always play nicely with the controls, and that could get frustrating. Not sure if that's been improved since. That said, I can still easily recommend the game. Knowing a sequel is in the works has me genuinely excited to see where they take it next!

hey guys! would totally recommend this game to a friend. Although, do not buy this game if you aren't ready to mess around with file settings for the game to work better :,)

Kinda sad they never fixed the basic game breaking bugs from like 6 years ago. Still has bugs that absolutely destroy your day like suddenly not being able to pick up anything except for some specific object.

Even though a really good game with a massive variety of products and what you can cook with them, the controls are not allowing for a smooth fun gameplay. You will always fight with it trying to make the perfect dish, but not have fun while doing it.

After playing the Roblox ripoff, I absolutely loved this game, but the content upon buying it was way less than my expectations. Good buy if it's on sale though. 5 DLCs and they don't add that much content either. The VR version on the other hand was amazing even though I got motion sick after a while, very good attention to detail and for once in a cooking game the cutting is actually accurate. Definitely recommend the VR version, and you can get the PC version if it's on sale. - Though don't take my word for it, you may enjoy the PC version more than I did.

I don't know what it is about cooking games like this but so far every one I've tried has failed miserably at making a functioning tutorial. For example on this one for day one, it has you cooking a salmon steak with some boiled potatoes. It tells you to set up the pot with the potatoes and never has you do anything with it so they don't cook in time. It focuses on the steak and then the tutorial stops telling you what to do or how to do it and the timer runs out and you fail. It literally sets you up to fail. There are timers scattered about that you can use to help you remember things when multi tasking but there is no button on screen which indicates how to make them work. I had to search online to find out how to do it because the game can't be bothered. There is literally no tutorial on how to clean. I had to find that out on my own with trial and error, a LOT of error then finally searching online to learn how to do it. It's so simple, it could have been the easiest tutorial of them all had they even tried. Another stupid thing is that you are supposed to use the trashcan to dispose of excess liquids or to clean off dirty cutting boards, pots, pans etc. Again, no tutorial so it's either guess work (and who would guess to pour liquids into a trashcan) or search online to learn it. If you interact with the trashcan one extra time by mistake it permanently throws the pot/pan away which is an extremely expensive mistake in the early game. You can load up the last quicksave but it will be from the beginning of the day and everything you did thus far is lost. The majority of the equipment in the kitchen has no tutorials on how to use them. I failed so many times at trying to cut french fries until I happened upon an automatic cutter in the kitchen that does it perfectly. There is other equipment that I still haven't used. I've never seen a game fail so miserably at teaching you how to play the game. With all of that harping noted above, the one saving grace that prevents this from being an unmitigated disaster is that the devs included a relax mode that removes the timers for cooking. This way you can take your time, learn from your millions of mistakes, and there will be millions of them, and get a feel for everything. The actual gameplay itself isn't bad once you eventually know what you are doing. The details are quite nice. You pile up some shrimp in a pan and the one on top isn't in the fluid? It won't cook and that will slow you down. There is one soup that has multiple ingredients and one of them cooks a lot faster than the others so you can experiment with adding that ingredient later on. It is definitely an addicting game overall.
