unironically one of the best indie games of its time, there are some issues I had encountered while playing, especially
when fighting brute boris in chapter 4
For being the first game in the series it's alright, pretty basic puzzles, simple but kinda clunky combat and cheap attempts to scare you. the achievements for finding every soup can in each chapter where pretty tedious though but all round a perfectly average game. 6/10 pretty middle of the road

Very good game, I liked it, though you can tell they didn't know what to do with the middle chapters, and plus the earlier alphas were perfect in their simplicity where as in the final version they went all out as much as they could. But its a good game for sure

Was enjoying this very much, except there were several bugs along the way. But the final bug stopped me in my tracks, and now I have to restart if I want to finish the game. I quit the game during the boss fight, and when I came back, I was outside the door to the fight, it was shut, and the lever to open the door was not flippable. No way to back out to a previous save either! Searching online, lots of folks have this same problem going back to 2018. Can't finish the game now, can't give a good review.

Bendy and the Ink Machine is the purest form of nostalgia—especially after revisiting it years later. As the game that kicked off the franchise, it's fascinating to see how different it is compared to its sequel, Bendy and the Dark Revival. While it definitely shows its age in some areas, it's still a memorable and eerie experience worth checking out. The gameplay has its limitations, particularly in terms of movement and interaction. It’s not a constant issue, but it’s noticeable enough at times to affect immersion. That said, considering it was developed by a small indie team, it’s impressive how much atmosphere and charm they packed into it. Chapter pacing can feel a bit repetitive, with each one often focusing on a single mechanic—like scavenger hunts or memory tasks—which sometimes slows things down. What truly shines, though, is the story and concept. The vintage cartoon aesthetic mixed with horror is incredibly unique. It captures a twisted, Disney-esque vibe that was genuinely fresh at the time and still stands out today. All in all, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a nostalgic, creepy, and creative experience. It may not be perfect, but it’s certainly worth revisiting. 7.5/10 – Flawed but iconic. The atmosphere and story carry this creepy cartoon classic.

It looks like the rest of the chapters were included in the game at no extra cost, now. When this game first came out, it was just chapter one. The rest of the chapters were still being produced, and individually released as DLC. I'm just now getting around to playing this and it all looks like it's done. Great story, simplistic but amazing visuals, accessible gameplay
