This is one of my favorite VR games. The atmosphere is perfect. The controls are a bit of an issue (no snap or smooth turning and the menus take getting used to) but if you can get a grip on them there's a lot of fun to be had.

Action game with awful gameplay and great visuals. Weapons that replace part of your arm, hitboxes that are way bigger than character models and janky enemy attack animations make melee combat unbearable. Ranged is a bit better, it's just mediocre.

9/10 Firstly, this game is beautiful. I don't mean just beautiful like your wife, I mean beautiful like the neighbour's wife. The artwork is stunning, but the resolution is fixed quite low, which doesn't really matter when you get into it. Secondly, this game is HARD. I mean hard like your neighbour. You'll find yourself screaming at the computer a number of times. It feels like the devs really ploughed on the difficulty curve in order to offer longevity, and that's fine, it worked. It took me 9 hours to complete what could have been a 2 hour experience if it hadn't been for the battles. The combat is awesome. It almost makes me feel ready to don collander and spade and go take on the man next door. DEVS: one thing to bear in mind: the best bits are the exploration and traps. More environments, less combat next time please. Overall: awesome game - a VR pleasure-fest. Wish me luck!

*Update - No signs of updates in the last 9 months... Decent game for 2016... But outdated now... I purchased for the beauty, but it lacks finesse. I would understand if it was early access, but it isn't. Debating if I should request a refund... 20 minutes in and I don't really want to play any further. I'll probably hang on to it hoping it will improve, since it was on sale. Recommendations: Haptic Feedback on interactions\collision with walls, enemies and items... Proper orientation from controllers to hands, weapons, shields, other items... (My in-game hands are not in the orientation of my hands on the controller, The sword is twisted weird and it feels like I'm gripping the shield's arm strap instead of the handle. In game menu system needs improvement, maybe quick item options. I have to press 6 buttons or more to re-equip sword and shield. Improve Story line, I'm not quire sure what was going on, not enough substance for me to care... Fighting was bland, I felt like i was fighting a gumba with a 2x4. (VR combat is tough to dev, I hope to see improvements!) I had high hopes, but at this point I can't recommend it.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Wow. I can't believe this is getting mixed reviews. But do you notice a pattern with all the negative reviews? That's right, they are all from 2017. None of them have played this game as it was fully released. That's a shame, I hope they revisit their reviews, because this is one of the best games in VR. Easy way to describe this game is Dark Souls in VR. Am i saying the combat is is fluid and satisfying as Dark Souls? No. Of course not. That game would cost $60 and probably won't be a reality until next gen VR systems. But the combat does feel good. These enemies have different attack patterns. You have to watch their animations closely to avoid getting hit. I personally think you have too much HP to start off the game, but when you are facing several enemies including an archer above you, then it does make sense to be able to take more than a few hits to go down. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous. The atmospheric sounds give you this sense of dread as you walk around this delapidated castle. You see pools of blood at your feet from earlier battles and even blood trails where bodies were dragged. Skulls lay about as a reminder of the history of hate surrounding these walls. There's great use of light and shadow and even some verticality. There's even some light puzzles to open new paths. You can pick up enemy weapons and shields. They all feel good, whether it's swinging a sword or clubbing a mace or using an axe. Melee weapons can break, but can be repaired with a health potion. You can actually shield bash enemies if you time it correctly. A good swing will tear enemy arms apart making them easy kills. And in certain areas, you can gank enemies with your bow & arrow or crossbow. But you have to be careful, if an enemy comes within melee range you don't want to be trying to shoot them. Or at least, you won't last long if you choose to do so. The inventory system is subpar but then you get used to it. It's not that bad and does not detract from the game. You can either teleport or walk in full locomotion. You can snap turn. I advise all Oculus users to change to locomotion method B. Although, it seems some areas were built for teleportation, as there are some pathing issues with full locomotion in some spots. You do get to make a lot of different potions from healing, to showing the path, to unleashing the power of the sun, to an invisibility potion. Sound familiar? Also choose the option in the main menu to skip the tutorial (after playing it once) because I encountered a bug where the game won't start after you try to exit the tutorial. If you drop a weapon it vanishes forever unless you first put it in your inventory. I'm at 2 hours and I still haven't finished the game. But I had this epic moment where spoiler alert
I entered a room and starting fighting a knight and then a huge freaking Orc came in and scared the living daylights out of me and then my sword broke ... where I frantically ran while trying to pick up a new weapon from my inventory .. that orc looks like the the starting big guys in DS2
All this for $13.99 normal price or $11.19 sale price is insane (I happened to buy this game when It was 8.39, but I didn't play it until now). This is one of the best deals. You're getting an awesome game at a great price. Must buy. Rate 8/10. Just get it. Praise the Sun!

I bought this game the day it was released as it was on sale for £6.00 or something like that... I have to say I really like the look of it at such an early stage. Like many of the reviews I can say I really wasn't a fan of the 3rd person locomotion, but it rumours are true and they have/are working on changing that then it will be music to my ears! I found from my first play through that some of the key sounds were missing that you would expect... like the sound of swinging a sword. To be honest I think the sounds need quite a bit of work at this stage, but granted it is early access. Its a great Dungeon crawler game and much more suited for adults than most other entries on VR at the moment. Haven't played too much but love how many spaces there seem to be in the inventory for different weapons. At the time of writing this I have only found the Sword/Shield/Crossbow. Again like some other review I really was getting a little agitated at how long it takes to reload the crossbow, I was stuck on one section for what seemed like an eternity because of this. But overall at this early stage I think its going to be a great game to keep an eye on! Defiantly worth the price at current.

I like this game sword fighting games are not usually my type of game. The graphics are nice I would like it better if you had arms not just hands then no hands when holding shield or weapon. It would also be better if all solid objects were solid if you hit some objects sword just passes right through. Overall i liked the game so far and will play again i look forward to trying out more games from this publisher.

Awful low-budget indie VR game with some of the worst controls and movement I have ever encountered. There are also constant frame rate drops down into the 40s even on the lowest graphic setting with an RTX 2080 and an i9 processor. In addition, there are flickering/shimmering wall textures, no in-game hands when holding weapons, extremely limited interactivity, a highly awkward to use wheel-based inventory, enemies get way too close in combat, and a terrible teleportation system where you must click once and there is a delay and then click again to move. The entire game also looks exactly the same everywhere you go. I cannot recommend this game at all. There are much better VR games out there.

Wow, I am sure I played this ages ago and it was a beautiful but clunky mess. But golly gosh, it has improved. All the reviews here praise the graphics, and it's true, this is a gorgeous game. (except the lens flares, which would only really happen if your eyeballs were a camera lens system!) A lot of detail in the environments and the enemies are beautifully detailed. Some of the puzzles in the game aren't very intuitive to me. If you're going to play, remember that to pick up or pull certain in game items you may need to use two hands! Unlike some of the newer VR combat games, this one has enemies which aren't as physically responsive. But if you're like me and you like to rollplay the heft of a a weapon and keep your distance from enemies, then the game can be very fun. It still needs some polish, I noticed some spelling/grammatical errors in the text of the game which shouldn't be there 2 years after release. I was happy to see many possible spells to craft, with interesting sounding effects. Looking forward to playing more. Framerate was good as long as i didn't supersample Played on a Rift S. i7 5960x 64gb DDR4 GTX 1080ti NVME storage
