I'm a little at a loss for words. I'll be thinking about The Midnight Sanctuary for a long time, I think.
I think it's important to note that this is a linear visual novel without choices branching paths. The story is told in a series of brief vignettes over the course of several days, and there's only one ending. You are an observer.
That said— even though I don't normally enjoy kinetic novels, Midnight Sanctuary was a strange, unsettling joy to play through.
