The story is great! I like the mechanics and how scary it got (maybe I scare easily) For a second game, this is quite nice.

This game was on my pile of shame for way too long, so I finally decided to play it. Oh boy this game is a masterpiece. As an Dead Space and Resident Evil or general horror fan, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the story and the gameplay. The best of this game? It gets better the further you go. It really gets you hooked and can hold it up the whole game. The game is from 2017, but I can really recommend playing it today!

It's kinda buggy, and the voice acting is a little forced/weird at times, and I clipped through the ground or out of bounds like 4 times, but overall it's a good game. Story is good and it's actually got a good ending. A shame there won't be a third game. 7.5/10

Ruim. 4,5/10

The first one was good, this is better. They have made a few tweaks here and there, refined the gameplay, but it's generally more of the same goodness from the original. Great story and a great game. Stealth killing zombies has never been so much fun.

I'll be honest, I hated the sequel the first time I played it. I thought it was going in a terrible direction whilst playing. The game felt forced and action like in a bad way, think RE6. But after I accepted the new voice actor for Sebastian, the open world, and the constant changing of villains....the game isn't all that bad. The story did't stick with me all that much, it felt as if they were just prolonging the inevitable...finishing the damn game? Sucks Bethesda shut down Tango GW because I'm sure any DLC or the 3rd game were gonna be fantastic. If you like survival horror...I'd recommend the first game and it's DLC. If you like the franchise or to just shoot generic creatures, then have at it and give this game a go.

Storywise, it's much more focused and emotional than the first game. The story actually makes sense. Compared to the crazy variety of the first game, the second one falls short, but there is still plenty of great locations, enemies and setpieces to be enjoyed. If you want the first TEW but doubling down on the insanity, you will be disappointed. If you wish the first TEW was more coherent and gave you motivation to proceed in the story, you will be satisfied. Overall, still stupid, still bonkers, still great.

The Evil Within 2 is a great survival horror game that keeps you on edge with its tense atmosphere, creepy enemies, and intense gameplay. It improves on the first game in a lot of ways, but it still has a few issues that can be frustrating at times. Here’s a breakdown: What’s Good: 1. Creepy Atmosphere: The game does an excellent job of creating an eerie, unsettling environment. From creepy monsters to weird, distorted areas, the world of The Evil Within 2 keeps you on your toes. It’s the kind of game where you’ll constantly feel like something’s about to jump out at you. 2. Strong Story: The story is surprisingly good for a survival horror game. It follows Sebastian Castellanos as he tries to save his daughter from a twisted alternate world. The plot unfolds in an interesting way, and the emotional beats really add to the experience. It’s a solid mix of action, suspense, and mystery. 3. Improved Combat and Gameplay: Compared to the first game, the combat is much more refined. The controls are smoother, and you get a lot more options for fighting and stealth. The addition of a semi-open world in some parts gives you more freedom to explore and gather resources, which makes the game feel more immersive. 4. Great Visuals: The visuals are impressive. The environments are beautifully designed, and the character models look good. The creepy details in the world (like decaying bodies and strange buildings) help pull you deeper into the horror. What’s Not So Good: 1. Repetitive Gameplay: While the game improves on a lot of things, there are still moments where it feels repetitive. You’ll often find yourself doing the same types of tasks over and over, like clearing areas of enemies or collecting certain items. This can drag on, especially in the open-world sections. 2. Some Frustrating Stealth and Combat Moments: Although the combat is better, there are still moments where the stealth mechanics can feel clunky. Enemies can sometimes spot you even if you think you're hidden, which can get annoying. Plus, some of the combat sequences can feel unfair, with certain enemies being way too powerful or difficult to deal with. 3. Pacing Issues: At times, the pacing slows down, especially during certain story sequences or when exploring the world. The game tries to balance action and exploration, but sometimes it feels like it drags a little. Some players may find the slower sections a bit boring, especially if you’re used to faster-paced action. 4. Occasional Technical Bugs: There are a few bugs here and there, like minor frame rate drops or AI quirks. They're not game-breaking, but they can be distracting when you’re trying to focus on the horror or the story. Tips for New Players: Take your time exploring. The game’s world has a lot of hidden items that can help you upgrade and survive, so don’t rush through it. Use stealth when you can. It’s usually a better option than getting into a full-on fight, especially if you’re low on ammo. Save often! The game can be unforgiving, and you don’t want to get caught in a difficult section without a save point nearby. Final Thoughts: The Evil Within 2 is a great horror game with a solid story, improved gameplay, and an atmosphere that keeps you on edge. While it has its flaws—like repetitive gameplay, frustrating stealth sections, and pacing issues—it’s still a fun and tense experience that horror fans will enjoy. If you liked the first game or are just looking for a solid survival horror title, this one’s worth playing. Recommended for fans of survival horror, but be ready for some slow moments and frustration here and there.
