I loved this game, and it inspired me to read the book it's based on, which is equally as good. One interesting tidbit about this game is there is even a DVD version you can play on a DVD player. I saw it at a bookstore once but didn't buy it in favor of the Steam version. Highly recommended if you like these types of games.

A camp masterpiece sabotaged by some very '90s sexism, biphobia, & poor portrayal of mental health. The atmosphere of distrust and ambiguity goes a long way into fooling you into thinking this game might be doing something interesting or abstract. In reality, this game is like a teenager hiding their porn mag behind a copy of Psychology Today. The psychological musings are set dressing for sex, melodrama, godawful poetry, John Hurt distressed mugging, and some of the best so-bad-it's-good content in the medium. If you won't be too put off by the aforementioned sexism, biphobia & bad handling of mental illness, it's a camp disasterpiece worth playing.

I have downloaded and installed the game twice. The opening screen works fine, the help screens work fine. The video is non-existent, the audio works great as well. Any suggestions are appreciated.

TLC is fascinatingly bizarre. If you don't read the side material, which most people don't I image, you're going to be missing out on this weird... I don't know how to put it other than "expanded universe" to what is otherwise a really, really bad and hoaky FMV movie.
I can't help but think the movie was made first and foremost with a few """alternate endings""" which are so weird and tacked on you'd assume the game just bugged out and stopped short, and the game was made around it. I say this because when you read the personal journals of all the characters, they say things that are just COMPLETELY removed from what's actually happening in the story, like someone's AU fanfiction about what their favorite character was thinking at this time. Nurse Catherine in the movie is just a complete psychopath, but her journal makes her out to be a kind and understanding person DESPERATE to make this case work, but constantly obstructed by Michael.
This is straight up two different characters, like a writer is desperately trying to make Catherine a kind and likable character underneath her rough exterior when in the movie she's clearly just nuts. Someone was REALLY trying with this side content, and I highly doubt even 10% of players are even going to see it, and with line deliveries such as "Breakfast Time" and "Organic Herbal Shampoo" I don't know who would take this seriously.
If you plan on playing this, do it with friends. It's a great party experience and Michael's journals make for some really fun and uncomfortable moments. There's also a lot of quizzes and questions in the game that I'm sure will get some good responses. Otherwise, it's... It's definitly TLC.
Oh yeah and don't look in the community hub it's... It's full of pictures... Very, very degenerate pictures.
