i love the princess maker games so of course i would like this one too.

7/10 これを読めばこのゲームをプレイできる I'm being very generous to this game. It probably deserves a 5 or 6, but i really want to like this game. There is a beauty to PC98 games. Anime games before 2000 in general had unmatched art and were bold in their content. For the most part this is exactly what I want out of a rerelease. Changes are (or were) minimal and don't effect the art style, at least for the most part. A younger, boalder Gainax made for themselves a cozy little rpg. But there is a serious problem. In 2022 the game was patched to be compatible with the Chinese market. To do this several instances of nudity were cut. Frankly this makes the game more appealing to appealing to tourists and subversive elements. That's unacceptable altogether but if you know what you're doing you can fix this. The bigger issue with this is that it breaks the translation entirely. As an example, of the stats is 根性 [ konjo], this was initially translated as Spirit and retranslated as Guts. It's not that either is more correct than the other but that the translation is no longer consistent. There are several instances where the stat is still referenced as Spirit directly referring to a stat increase. The game is littered with these errors now with some sentences repeating themselves and others just being straight up broken. buyer beware.
