Phantom Reviews

Phantom is a hard sci-fi survival game. It is very different from other survival games; the player is a robot rather than human. At the same time the game has a pure physics-based construction system, which makes survival and fighting become very fun and different.

i want to support the devs on this one as i see it beeing one of the better survival world games out there when it is finished. But as of this moment theres not enuf in for the price. the story that is in is short and easy enuf just do what the ai askes and its over when you get to the smaller island. the creative side could be good but the island is so small its just not werth playing. hopeing this game gets better soon as the videos show a much better game. and this was what i thought i would be getting. so in summery if you want this game to become what its ment to be then we need to buy it and hope the devs dont screw us over but it really isent werth the mony they want for it now. it needs a biger map and all the scanable parts in game so you can at least try to survive and build the things to keep you going as there is no way to build anything really in story mode with the limited objects you can scan. update game gets better after you complete the island map didnt relise as game gos back to tital screen when you finish the island but when you start a new game there is now option for the dessert wher you start in a pit whit junk everywhere not made my way out of said pit yet but im assuming you can and there is a map of some size up there well im off to find out ps thanks @Neverend for showing me the way

A game with much potential. Preliminarily I would recommend for its potential, but it may be altered to "not recommend" if insufficient progress is made towards the objectives set by the developers. The difficulty is, at least in my opinion, moderate. Sufficient instruction is given, with much left for exploration by the player (bad news for some players accustomed to STEP BY STEP instruction.) PAY ATTENTION : THIS GAME IS A SO-CALLED HARDCORE GAME. Still some problem with the translation (particularly the difference between "reduce to" and "reduce by"). Hope fixed. Regarding optimization, I would say it fares well. On my 4790k + GTX 780 computer, it runs with a FPS of 40-60 (occasionally 30+), with all video settings set as "epic" under 1920*1080 resolution. I have not progressed to the second level of desert, which is displayed in the promotion video. I will make update to this review.

I bought this game and spent 5 minutes in it and refunded. It will be A PERFECT VR GAME IF the developers add the ability to invert Y Axis and rebind the mouse/keyboard keys. As soon, or if, these features are added, I will repurchase. Furthermore, make the worldspace at least close to Conan Exiles, or as big as Subnautica.

The idea of the game is great and that is why I gave it a thumbs up. Perhaps one day in a year or so this game might be really fun to play. As it is...It's lacking in a few things. So if you like the idea and want to support them I would consider getting the game while it's on sale. For the developers: There are serveral things that could be done to improve Phantom: 1. Fix the english so everything can be read in english. And you can skip on the swearing it doesn't make it funny or realistic, whichever one you were going for. 2. When you start out the game in the desert you start deep in a pit filled with junk, I would suggest that you either (1) make it so no robots spawn until you get out or (2) make it so the robots won't attack buildings. Let me explain further. The robots only come at night, but they will stay forever unless you destroy them and they are extremely hard to destroy even with a constant stream of power. That being said not only will they attack you, but they will attack and destroy anything that you have built, making it nearly impossible to play the game. 3. Make day and night more obvious. Make the switch between them almost instantly and make it really dark at night and really bright during day. Either that or add a in game clock. Consider making the day longer then the night. 4. Consider making it possible to upgrade your robot rather then just the cosmetics. Like make it possible to extend your robots battery life by making it possible to build a battery backpack. 5. The robot damages itself too quickly from even the smallest of things like bumping into something or falling from a small height, 6. Consider making the robots weapon untility tool run of a different source of power, thereby making it possible to use it without consuming your robots personal energy. In my opinion your robots personal power should be only used by walking and running. 7. Consider adding in quests as a way to help players get started and to make the game more fun. When inside the pit help the player by adding quests that take the player to the items within the pit that are neccessary to start building (Battery, Solar Panel, etc). 8. Lastly, the pixalation effect that occurs as you get towards the end of your power makes sense, however it starts at about half way. In reality like what I said above you should have way more power normally and the pixalation effect shouldn't start until you reach the last quarter of your power.

WTF is this? I run around a tiny island reading text pop ups on items on the island and picking up pieces of metal that doesn't show up in my bag except for one man hole cover. There is also another island not far away with a flag, but you can't get to it because you get pushed back to the starting island. There's no instructions how to do or what to do anything. Hotkeys can't be changed and music can't be turned down or off, because all the sound is linked to one setting.

I can't recommend this game, but I did enjoy playing the game when it was possible. I was getting fatal errors after every update, and for some reason my pc started freezing randomly (Not while playing the game). I didn't think it was the game because the game wasn't open durning the times my pc would freeze, and it wasn't immediately after the update/fatal error. But I did notice that each update eventually led to my pc freezing afterwards, so I uninstalled it and I haven't had a freezing issue since. Never had a freezing issue before installing the game also. So, no I can't recommend this game. If you're interested, try it for yourself for less than 2hrs and gain your own opinion. Some are getting the fatal errors, some aren't. Again, I enjoyed playing around with the game.... but I'm not going to recommend it knowing it was f'n with my pc. I was using.... i7-3770k 3.5ghz 16gb 64bit Win10 pro to run the game. I like the concept of the game and the visuals, but I hope they get it together at some point, and/or someone comes along and adds some dev experience to the team to help with development and more. Until then I'll take that "L", I knew the risk going in. Lesson learned.
