Just wanted to say this game is a 10 out of 10. I can't believe it came out in 2017 - it was ahead of it's time - still great in 2025. Works awesome on Windows 11. Super Fun. Thank you devs for such a great game!

an improvement in every way from the first game and it is absolutely amazing from start to finish. one of the best metroidvania games i have ever played.

Fun game! Feels great to play and modern in design despite its age. Super simple progress- and exploration- focused game that gives plenty of satisfying gameplay hooks while never overstaying its welcome. Took almost exactly 10 hours to beat after finding 80% of the secrets. I might go back to find the rest and finish upgrading everything, though. I'd definitely recommend SteamWorld Dig 2 to anyone who likes games about finding optional collectables, collecting/buying a huge amount of meaningful upgrades that affect gameplay in exciting ways, or blowing the earth up with bombs.

Even better than the first one, this game offers a wealth of creative and delicious ideas that result in a harmonious blend of mining and metroidvania gameplay elements.

Best platformer I've ever played. First beat it on xbox in 2020 and now the second time – not an often case for me )

This is a really good game, I promise it's not because of the 7ft woman with the fat ass.

I didn't really like the first one that much and I had low expectations before playing SteamWorld Dig 2, but I quickly noticed how much Part 2 has improved. As a Metroidvania game lover, Part 2 checks most of the boxes, plus also includes that unique gameplay of digging. One thing this game doesn't have is a good amount boss battles. There's only one and that is at the end.

Had a lot of fun with this, built on all the ideas of the first game while leaning more into an open map/metroidvania style to great success. Movement by the end of the game felt great and secrets/puzzles still require decent logical thinking about the game's mechanics. Still taps in to the primal human desire of wanting to dig, and that's all I really asked for from a sequal.

Cozy games should not be limited to farming sim games. This game is cozy, easy & fun. Doesn't take away too much focus where i can listen to podcast audio in the background.

The game has improved significantly compared to the first part. Playing, exploring, upgrading, going through dungeons, looking for secrets - it's fun. There are many upgrades for tools, and they can be customized to suit your play style.
