Fun! This is great if you want a Neon Chrome fix, but would rather jump into the action right way. I hope to see the game expanded with more unique enemies and AI behavior. I wouldn't have any problem getting new content via another DLC. It'd also be great to see the Arena progress integrated into the main game, somehow - perhaps an option to transfer loot earned in the Arena to the main story. Anyhow, this developer is amazingly responsive to the community. That to me was reason enough to purchase the DLC.

I bought this DLC on sale, and that's about the only way to get it. Waters down the main game to a square room and mindless waves of enemies. Combat consists of shooting offscreen down the spawning lanes as you dodge an impossible amount of fire. There are certain weapons that are clearly overpowered in such situations, which makes a lot of builds not work. I understand why the devs made the game (easy and fast when you have the core concept already), but even compared to other horde shooters this just isn't that great.

I'm liking it, I've paid 4 dollars for arena games that aren't as nice. As another review said It would be nice to be able to take winnings to your main charchter. Although I seem to get a pretty hefty sum of money playing this so maybe half of the winnings.

If you like Neon Chrome enough to be looking at DLC, this is a decent addon mode, it's kind of like a Neon Chrome light. I do not regret my purchase. It's pretty much exactly what I expected from the trailer and description. Would reccommend.

wish there was a neutural review sometimes. but it's... ok. like playing an endless mode, except the base game's theoretically infinite... sooo... defeats the point, doesn't it? buy if you want to support the creators... or just... get an actual game from the creators instead, I guess. I got it, 'cuz bundle. oh well.

I am very on the fence about my review. It doesn't add anything, if anything it takes away some of the great things about the game. Such as using the environment. It is what it claimed to be though and it's fairly cheap. There is one thing no one has brought up. WHERE IS THE TROOPER ROLE IN SURVIVAL MODE!? It was advertised and pretty much the main reason I got this DLC, so that I could add something to solo play. So where is it. I have been able to randomize the immersion chair results about 25 times and it never showed up. Nor does it whenever I'm normally playing. I am in love with the base game, just stick to the main game.

4€ for a less fun version of what is a truly amazing game. While I can not praise the base game enough, this DLC is a complete and utter waste of time and money.

If you love Neon Chrome as I do, this is worthwhile for a little variety and to support the developers. Also it lets you compete on leaderboards if that's your thing. But it doesn't add much compared to the base game, so might not be worth it if you aren't a big fan. There are a few things to play with like turrets for the hacker and a vampire booster that acts differently from the one in the main game. The waves of enemies will overlap, requiring different gameplay especially if you are slow and methodical in the main game.

Arena DLC for action rogue-lites is kind of popular these days - and for good reason - they are a nice self-contained mode that can be quite fun. Neon Chrome is no different. The arena mode is a welcome addition, at a great price. What you need to know:

Stuff you unlock in single player carries over
Total score (money) in arena mode dictates what base characters you have access to
Like most arenas, this one works in 'rounds' or 'waves' with regular upgrades at each floor
If I were to fault it for anything, I'd say there is little if anything at all new added to the typical arena mode. It's all been done before, just now in Neon Chrome. But, hey, it's five bucks and the base game is remarkable.

Quite a disappointing DLC. Although I do recommend the game itself, this DLC is simply a cheap grab of cash. The major flaw of this DLC arena mode is it does not introduce anything new. It is literally the same as the game itself. You will be spawning on same styled floors like the campaigns you played, you will use the old weapons, pick ups and powers, you will be fighting all the same enemies you fought in the campaign. There is nothing new in this DLC, and furthermore this DLC is actually lot less fun to play than the campaign, seeing it would limit your choices of weapons and secondary powers (you cannot choose them via purchasing) from the beginning, you are not allowed to purchase multiple addons before entering the arena either. It could be designed in this way so it tastes more like a survival mode or something, but if in that case it should AT LEAST introduce some new elements, which you will see none. This arena mode also doesn't let you upgrade any of your traits. This is just a meh......I played it for two rounds and gave up, because it is essentially the same gaming experience you had in the campaigns.
