Just finished a 100% complete playthrough of this game. Greatly enjoyed my time with it, pure simplistic rpgmaker goodness with no fluff. Absolutely got my fifty cents out of this! Hope the developers continue to make more games, they just earned themselves a new fan.

Very cute indie turn-based RPG fighter. There is an incredible balance within the game where fighting and exploring are well-rewarded, yet the game does not require mass grinding in order to make progress. The soundtrack gets stuck in my head even years removed from playing the game.

A fun little RPG maker title with some meat on its bones! There's a lot of things that I enjoyed about this game, first of all you get a "camp" area sort of like Dragon Age Origins where you can talk to the NPCs that you recruit to your base that can then trade you items, give you sidequests, give you rewards, etc. which was pretty cool. I also enjoyed that the map seemed pretty expansive without ever falling into the pitfall of other titles making the dungeons too convoluted and mazelike, I think all the areas had a fair level of difficulty and I was able to push on without being frustrated.
I finished the game in about 14 hours and completed most of the optional side content, there's plenty of fun flavor dialogue from the various NPCs across the landscape and plenty of little nooks and crannies to look for items and equipment, which is pretty bountiful, I liked that I really felt like my characters were getting stronger in a good appreciable way, helped by the game rewarding you with exploring and finishing quests with permanent stat boosting items. The combat system is relatively deep and varied for this kind of title, and beyond serviceable and into the territory of fun where I enjoyed it and even saw myself strategizing and grinding a bit to give myself an edge.
Much higher quality and character than a lot of the generic RPG stuff on Steam, I not only recommend on sale but I recommend at the normal price, if you enjoy classic JRPGs I bet there's something in here you'd like.

It's a good rpg. It kept my interest, even though, many times, I had no idea what to do next. There's absolutely no online help for this game. The achievements are actually easy, as long as you are able to find the path forward.

I recieved a 50% off coupon for this game and decided to use it. Boy am I glad that I did. The graphics are not impressive but the gameplay is addictivie. I finished it in two days but I planned on replaying it to see if I can get differnet items quicker. such as the enchanted mantile. I use the lycos book before I got the mantle and missed out on a section that needs.
I definitely recommend this as long as you don't care about graphics. Usb contoller makes the gameplay go by quicker to.

So if you like RPGs (turn based), then you are in luck, there is something unique about this game. It is interesting and I like the character designs, spells, OST/Music and game play. There are adventures to be had and secrets to find. Except some secrets are really, really hard... (In all honesty, I couldn't find the last Enchanted Artifact nor the "Legendary Chains". Also, couldn't find the Mighty Wizard, unless he was the card making guy, but he isn't fighting you... Then there are chains, and they say that they grant the wielder "double the XP after battle", but no one can wield them.)
I may have overlooked something, but that is the incentive to go come back and try to do thing a little bit differently next time.
The story line is fun, it is simple and jokes are actually funny, so kudos. :)
The only thing is: I didn't find out anything about the bad guys, until the ending scenes... I had no idea about their pasts and well, now I guess I do, I was just surprised it was all the way in the end instead.
So yep, I got nearly 40 hours out of the game (mainly looking for secrets...), you can have your fun with it as well!
Thank you for an interesting kind of RPG game!!! :D :) :>

This game has a couple of nice features, some things that can be worked on, and others where there's no saving from. I dove into this thinking it might be a charming little creation with a nice story and compelling characters. However, it left much to be desired, and let me explain why.
The auto text is too fast to be able to read through in time. Now, this might be because I'm a slow reader but when you do this type of thing, you have to take into account a lot of stuff. This included. Personally, I found the quotation marks for the description in books unnecessary. It just feels weird to read the information about effects as if someone in the book is actually explaining it to another person.
There are too many commas everywhere where they do not need to be. Adding a lot of commas does not automatically make things sound better. It's a very double-edged sword—it can either improve your text or completely demolish it and make it very hard to read. When I started playing, I rarely found spelling errors but the further I went, there were all of a sudden a lot more.
Music is too loud during battle. I understand wanting to hype things up, but there's no need to blow someone's eardrums to do it. I had the worst time trying to get my volume right, so I wouldn't be blasted every time I got into a fight.
Next thing! I couldn't find the plot for the life of me. It starts fine and all, but there's not much else to it than four friends that decide to travel, adventure, and talk to people. Now that could work if you threw some tension in. However, there isn't any of that—that I could find, at least. This might be because I didn't get there, but you shouldn't have to play a game for 6+ hours to figure out what it's even about. There should have been something. If not tension, then motivation, ambition, something that drove the characters forward, a goal. Just something.
That brings me to the next bit. I do like the characters. They have well-established personalities. Again, I didn't get too much from them as I didn't get very far but the parts I did, I liked well enough to continue for a while. I also liked that even the insignificant characters had portraits—regardless of whether they were repeated ones or not. That was a lot of fun as a whole and even the most trivial of the bunch had clear personalities.
I do love the fact that there's no grinding. It's all well-paced and consistent in that form. It moved things along quicker, which I appreciated. In most RPG Maker games, you have to grind up several levels like in Pokémon before you can even get anywhere, which is more a pain than pleasure.
There are three things that I look for in these types of games: text, characters, and plot. After a while—as you can tell by the stuff I've said above—it became clear that The Deal only had one out of three of these. I would not call this a bad game but it's not a good one. It's fine. Sadly, “fine” is not enough to keep the interest.

Great old school RPG. Not extremely complicated and something you can set down and just play for hours. I am 13 hours in and have plenty left to do

This game is fun and I really enjoy it. One of best point for me is that you don't need to grind exp/money to advance the story. Another great point is their support, thanks for their quick response and update.

You might see this game has very few reviews despite the release date and think "There must be something wrong with this game." And you'd be right, there is something wrong; NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT!
First off, yes, this is a RPG Maker-based game. BUT!!! It's one of the few good ones!
Between 10 and 20hrs depending on your pace and your interest for completion, this game involves a group of adventuring friends in the form of cute-looking sprites, a balanced group, spells you can teach any of your mage-wielding characters and skills that depend on what weapon your warrior has equipped.
A simple, straight-forward and yet entertaining story easy to follow with a journal to check if you forget where you're at. It also involves backtracking after acquiring certain items so you can open areas you couldn't the first time you visited a dungeon. But the world in this game is somewhat small, so easy to revisit everything over and over once cleared if you can't remember where was that ONE place! The monsters don't respawn once killed in dungeons, and the ones on the map quickly become too weak and easily avoidable or escapable from.
A bunch of sidequests, easy to spot with "?" over NPCs heads, but the one downside is there is no list of sidequests in your menu, so either take notes, or only pick them one at a time so you don't forget where you're supposed to go. But that's a minor inconvenience because any new area reachable by obtaining a sidequest becomes marked on the world map (meaning when you're outside, you can see an arrow over a cave or a forest entrance. You don't have a map key item)
The community for this game is surprisingly small but the developers are ready to answer any questions you might have.
TL;DR
For the price, this game is very much worth it. I have unfortunately seen worse for more than this.
Did I mention there are VERY FEW TYPOS in this game??? Typos are an eyesore for me and these games usually have a lot. But not this one! A few minor ones, which makes this game all the more enjoyable and cringing-free (at least for me.)
This is my first review, and this game deserves it.
