Some very nice additions, especially if you're into dodge because all of the weapons boast very good base concealment in their respective classes. - The Desert Fox sniper rifle: R93-ish damage, pretty bad base accuracy, very good concealment (for a sniper rifle). Perfect if you want a strong sniper for dodge, as long as you pick up some skills to improve its subpar accuracy. - The Contractor pistol: Nothing particularly special about this one, the stats are vaguely Crosskill-like and the overall performance is no different from pistols of that variety. There's also an akimbo variant if you're into spamming. - UMP45 (or the Jackal SMG): I like this one, it has that high damage shared with guns like Krinkov, CR805B and Swedish K but it can have really good concealment without you having to go TOO far out of your way to achieve it. It can also be modded as a solid backup weapon for armour builds. The base accuracy is pretty bad (60) for a hard hitting low ammo SMG so it's a good idea to help that with some skills. - Throwing knives can be decent in the right hands I guess, personally I can't get a whole lot of use out of them. EDIT: They're actually pretty good once you get used to what their flight trajectory is like, great with crits. Definitely get this if you want to expand your arsenal for low visibility builds. It doesn't offer anything HUGELY gamechanging for loud non-dodge gameplay although all of the weapons can be made better by sacrificing concealment, as per usual.

In General you pay for the Jackal Submachine Gun, the pistol is fine but not great. The sniper rifle is weak. I hoped that with the addition of One Down the devs would give us some new viable weapon choices. But sadly that is not the case.

A reskinned crosskill with badass animations, A highly concealable R93, And a worse version of the krinkov. They all look pretty decent, I'd give 6/10.

Pretty good for concealment or it builds. UMP: basically a conceal version of the Krinkov. Contractor: conceal version of crosskill but a downgrade to Leo Desertfox: clone of all middle range snipers (R98) but has a base concealment of 19, making stealth with a sniper rilfe a thing. Akimbo: again, a clone of the crosskill but downgrade to interceptor. Get this one sell. Not bad for a crit build UMP is cool Armor user don't really need it Basically a skin version to all other weapons but added concealment. Mask: cool Throwable: cool

Seriously, don't buy it unless you have nothing else to spend Steam dosh on because you will gain very little actual value from this DLC. Let's go over what it has: -The UMP45 "Jackal:" a submachinegun almost identical to the AK-pattern "Krinkov" already ingame for free. The '45 does have one advantage in that it can sacrifice performance for concealment. This lets you get more creative with your primary weapon when running concealment-sensitive dodge builds... However, the '45 has so much spread and recoil that you may as well bring a 70-80 damage pistol and land more shots with the higher performance they offer for the same concealment. Its applications in high-concealment mag-dumping aren't enough to redeem this needless sidegrade weapon. Useless. -A .308 bolt-action with terrible accuracy and heavy recoil - a straight downgrade from the "platypus," R93, and Mosin-Nagant rifles already available. Its high concealment gives it limited applications for dodge, but you may as well bring an AP shotgun or just a hard-hitting pistol. Useless. -YET ANOTHER M1911 SIDEGRADE. GOSH. It's a 1911 "Crosskill" reskin. Not useless but no need to take it over any of the million other pistols with almost identical stats. So the guns are a write-off. However, there is just one item that gives a limited value to this pack, and that is the throwing knife. I suck with throwing knives but I'm trying to get better because they are statistically brilliant. Unlimited use, one-shot-heads even on One Down Zealots. The throwing axes or javelins are perfectly acceptable sidegrades, but the knives have twice as many in reserve which makes them far more useful on 1D, because you may need to dispatch multiple enemies to recover your thrown knives and having more in reserve is a great way to do that. Throwing knives deal so much damage, I've pushed my way out of failed 1D stealth jobs by abusing armour gates and wiping six Zealots at a time with well=placed knives to push my way to the van. All in all, there is only one real reason to buy this DLC and if you already have the Biker or Medieval packs then that utility is greatly diminished, but if it comes on special for -75% you should take a look at least, to add these vital throwables to your arsenal. Careful though - these knives could be in line for a heavy nerf at any time.

Pointless if you have some previous DLCs. UMP < CB (SMG from the Biker Heist) Contractor = medium damage pistols (LEO, Crosskill etc.) Desertfox = pretty much all the bolt action rifles (except Rattlesnake, fo sho) Throwing knives - meh, shurikens for stealth, axes for loud. Long pre-throw animation Summing the things up: + Reload animation + UMP's finally here - Basically a reskin pack - Annoying achievements for masks Grab it on sale.

John Wick Weapon Pack ★☆☆☆☆ NOTE: If you have the game John Wick Chronicles on Steam, this DLC is included therein. I bought Hotline Miami, got the Deluxe Edition of HM2, I got SpeedRunners and whatever else unlocks content for Payday 2. I personally prefer not having to buy other games for content within Payday 2, so I'm thankful for seeing this as a "standalone" DLC. All the weapons here feel nice - they have smooth animations, they sound unique and modding them makes them look pretty. They differ a little bit from the stats of other weapons, either found in the base game or by purchasing other DLCs. None of them are great - they're just pretty reskins. Weapons & mods: 3½ weapons are added to your inventory. 1 Sniper Rifle, 1 SMG and 1 pistol (+akimbo). The Jackal SMG is a UMP and functions like most other SMGs; it's great until you run out of ammo. There are way better ones out there, should you develop a taste for this kind. The Contractor pistol looks nice - but in regards to stats the pistol is a down-grade to the LEO and is almost identical to 3 - 4 other pistols. The only interesting point of this DLC is the Sniper Rifle (Desertfox). With max concealment you can hit 4 detection risk - there are better options out there for crit builds though. And to "balance" it, the Desertfox has very bad accuracy. Even if you have no DLCs yet, there are better options within the base game, and no weapon mods are added beyond the ones for these guns. Throwable: The throwing knives are also a reskin - their function is to deal direct damage to the target you're aiming for - they're a tad slower than the throwing axe found in the Biker DLC, but you get six knives as opposed to the three axes. The thrown Javelin was also nerfed when this DLC hit the store, so I guess there's that. Melee weapons, masks, patterns and materials: Purely cosmetic and/or minor aspects of the game. Overall: There's not a whole lot to tell about this DLC. It's one of the worst (so far), and unless the weapons are subject to future changes I don't see them being used very much, beyond the 20 minutes it takes to grind through the 4 added achievements. John Wick is an awesome movie. The "John Wick Weapon Pack" is a lousy paid commecial for said movie. Get it on sale for the four achievements. EDIT (Nov. 2016): Elaborated on a few things, added some thoughts on other things.

The John Wick Weapon pack could have been so much better, like the Sydeny Character pack it has good looks, but in the end it's just lacking so much compared to other weapon packs. Also if you like playing with armour or just being a tank in general, skip this DLC, it offers nothing to you, this pack is aimed at Dodge Crit players. The Contractor Pistol is the best weapon out of the pack and best looking, it has great damage, quite a bit of ammo, a great mag size and is very concealable, on it's own it is a great weapon, and with help with some mods, it will be a helpful sidearm for loud and stealth. The Contractor is the first DLC pistol to have Akimbo versions! AND THEY SUCK! In nearly everyway, their stats are just crappier versions of the Crosskill Akimbos and their ammo pool is way too low to even have a fighting chance against the Bernetti 9 and Chimano 88, avoid this Akimbo Weapon at all costs. The Sniper Rifle is pretty much an R93 with 1 less shot and is a lot more concealable, so if you used an R93 or use it often, you will feel right at home with this gun, and thanks to it's low concealment, it's a great dodge and crit option, overall it's a good weapon. The Jackal SMG has simlar stats to the Krinkov and the CR 805B from the Biker Heists, and is pretty much your average High Damage low ammo SMG... until you build it for pure damage and mag size and realise it's a downgrade in everyway from a CR 805B when you build it in the same way. However the saving grace with for this weapon is that it's quite concealable and can be a good option for Crit and Dodge users, but for me, I'll stick with the Micro UZI and Vector. Throwing Knfies... don't use them, they are a direct downgrade from the Throwing Axes from the Biker Heists. "Why?" I hear you ask, well... While you have 6 Knifes, they have a second delay on them until they are thrown, meaning if a guard spots you in Shadow Raid, by the time you draw a knife out to kill him, he's already shot the air, while the Throwing Axes have in instant throwing animation, and chances are due to it's high damage, kills the guard in one hit... so yea, give these sh**ty knifes the middle finger and throw them into the bin, they are total garbage. While the Knfies do share the same damage as the Axes, that small delay prevents it from being useful for me. *UPDATE* They changed it so they no longer have a delay when thrown, and while yes they are now a true upgrade to the Axes, I still find the Axes more fun since... well throwing Axes at enemies is much more satisfying then throwing a dinky knife at them. The achievements are... odd... while I do often complain about some achievements being p*ss easy or too boring, my main issue is how oddly tied 2 achievements are... I mean why do I have to use a pistol only, in Firestarter, on Overkill to get a mask? Why not just "Kill X amount of cops with the pistol" or "Finish 15 heists while having the Contractor equipped"? I also don't like the Knife achievement, not only it forces me to use them, but why in Murky Station? Why? Why not in just any stealth heist? What do these 2 heists have to do with Wick? I mean with all the other Promo/Crossover DLC all their achievements made sence, why does this get Achievements that don't even fit the character or movie? However killing 45 Russians with the Jackel does make sence since in the movie
he destorys an entire Russian Mafia.
But all of the achievements are alright, they won't be unlocked in one game and they will take some time to get done, so I'm happy with that at least. The masks could have been better, Daisy is the best mask, while the others are meh, the patterns and materials are also decent. Overall this Weapon pack is mediocre, the Biker Heists DLC does the exact same job as half of this DLC but better, while the other 2 weapons are the only ones worth picking up. Get it on sale, it's lacking too much to be worth £3.99/$4.99, go grab another pack instead.

This weapon pack is so underrated. Trust me, even i was hesitant to buy this at day 1 of its launch. I was scrolling through reviews and most of them were either "its just a re-skin" or "not worth the 5$". Not really. Let me tell you, this pack is aimed for dodge/crit users. Well it can be used for other builds too but its more powerful when used with rogue and crits. Desertfox - Medium range sniper with highest concealment in the game right now. UMP - High caliber SMG ( like Krinkov, swedishk etc.) with unique concealment mods. This smg has the highest concealment with mods in the game right now. Contractor Pistol /Akimbo - No comment needed on this one, A medium range pistol with great concealment. (one of the best animations and pistol models in game) Throwing knives- Way better than the axes you get in the biker DLC. Better animation and better trajectory and you get six of them. I have dedicated a build for the desertfox and UMP. The contractor akimbos and pistol also works wonders in dodge/pistol/crit build. On a final note , i would like to say it's worth it, go get it if you are a dodge user like me and you like running snipers/pistols/smgs with crits. You won't be dissapointed. Armor/ICTV users can skip this pack for now and get it later at a sale

Still lacks a f*ckin pencil. cmon... edit 26/8/17 The review was made before the pencil was introduced in the game, but couldn't it have been introduced earlier before whatever event (I think it was the search for kento thing) introduced it to be more fitting?... Now please, hold your complains of this review... probably I missed out on the pencil... Well, gotta say the contractor pistol is good including the UMP smg damage wise and concealment wise. Throwing knives are fun too...
