Would be a fun game if it was balanced. Why is it I have hunters and fishermen that all of a sudden stop bringing in food so everyone starves to death. All while bears and deer roam the town freely.

Beautiful design with decent features, but greatly unfinished, no real goals. No events. Buggy as heck. Devs abandoned what could have been a masterpiece and possibly their most profitable and successful game ever.

This review is very late to the game. I was scrolling through my games and decided to put this out there on a whim for anyone who may still be considering this game.
I bought Early Access hoping to support a spiritual successor to Banished. For a while development was good and it was making slow and steady progress. Eventually there was a shift and features and mechanics were being pumped out with a fair bit of jank to them. Then a very sudden 1.0 release, followed by one or two updates for a few fixes, that was it.
I don't feel it is really finished. If you want to get to a very late game town you essential need mods to fix/work around some of the janky mechanics like item distribution. I'm sure many people could get enjoyment from it but there are other options that will probably provide you better value. I already own it and will likely install it every few years and build up a town but I do not recommend new players buy this game.

Do NOT buy this game. It is severely unfinished abandonware. The devs made a start on it, then just upped and left years ago. But for some reason its still for sale on here.
