Beautiful and relaxing game with a mostly calm soundtrack. Controls need improvement. Had a few crashes and random bugs where the main character would trip or pick up an orb and "die" and respawn somewhere else. Permanent "death" state where the eyes are white and I had to reload last checkpoint in order to progress.

RIME has some gameplay design issues that make the game not as enjoyable as say, journey but that does not mean it's not worth experiencing. Whatever flaws it may have pale in comparison to the story that's told here. Without spoiling anything the final act was incredible on a narrative level. It's something that i can see bring people to tears, which it didn't for me, but still gave me goosebumps. The real question you need to ask if you want to play RIME is wether or not you're willing to sit through 5+ hours of slow paced gameplay for this payoff. Not that it's a complete bore but the very slow running speed comparitively to the big levels make it a bit of a slow burn. It was enough to dissuade me from chasing all the achievements, which is something i normally strive for. The puzzles aren't all that fun either so the appeal here is quite literally the story. That and the obviously beautiful art style and OST, which are both excellent as well. In a way you don't lose out much by watching a longplay of this over playing it yourself especially since it's so expensive. If you wanna play it yourself though, pick it up at a discount.

Beautiful game. It's a short puzzle game with an amazing story. It absolutely made me bawl.

A fantastic, emotional journey of a boy moving through a beautifully constructed world. Plenty of secrets to find and environments to explore. 10/10 game, would highly recommend it (though maybe wait for a sale)

Artistically, this game is marvelous - absolutely wonderful music with nice to look at visuals and landscapes are probably the biggest force that make you move forward. Where the game is seriously lacking though, it's gameplay. "Puzzles" are way too easy and straightforward and platforming sections are not challenging. Most of the time you will be holding W button and just looking.
If you are a cozy gamer, who wants to relax, or if you want some chill game to play after CS2 or VALORANT, this game is a must have for you. However, if you are coming for gameplay, fun puzzles or the story (which is told through few collectibles by the way, except for the final cutscene) this game will disappoint you.
Although gameplay is always more important to me rather than graphics or story and I despise walking simulator type of games like this, I am gonna make an exception and give this game a thumb up simply because of music. Seriously, this game has one of the best scores I've ever heard in games.
