The new mechanics added in this game aren't an improvement over the TBS 2 and 1 in my view, but I have not suffered the crashes that others have mentioned in their reviews (on MacOS 15 w/ M1 Pro mac). Worth playing if you loved the first two.

Ultimately, this franchise is not one that you can look at individually, but as chapters to the larger whole. I found this game to be a satisfying, if brief, story that ultiamtely ended alot of the interesting world building that i was intrigued by.
My first time through i got the best ending cuz i took "MOVE YOUR ASS" as gospel, but i found that if i spread out the adventure a bit, i had a more brutal, but more satisfactory ending, where it made the sacrifices that i was dealing with feel worthwhile.
Overall, an incredible 3rd chapter that expands on the world (which was always the main star of this game)... and one that I would love to see a bigger budget sequel to. The whole franchise deserves your time, but this game really resonated w/ me, and I think that if you're a darker fantasy fan, you might like this one too.

Loved Banner Saga 1 and 2, was excited to conclude the trilogy but an absolute buggy hell, nevermind polished the cutscenes dont load and greenscreen, the battles dont load either and constantly crash. Genuine unplayable state that is made so much worse by the good will built up with the other two games in the franchise. Would love to play this once it is fixed but somehow doubt that the devs care.
