The Center - ARK Expansion Map DLC
The Center is a free add-on for ARK: Survival Evolved that includes a massive new map for survivors to explore, nearly double the size of the playable geography of the standard ARK Island landscape making it about 70 sq. kilometers. The Center complements the current ARK biomes with a rich, hand-drawn Tolkien-esque aesthetic.

i have a dedicated gaming laptop and this map is very laggy. however, the map is very beautiful and when i didnt have lag, it was great, but if anyone can help with the lag please let me know.

[h1] Wish i could play The Center... No loading for me [/h1]
so i have downloaded it but everytime i go into the map it get s to TheCenter_WaterfallBackground and stop responding. i've got into the map 2 times... both of whitch were after fresh installs of the game, but after one time loading into the map it gets to there and just stops.

I've played many modded maps in my life... starting with unreal tournament and quake, up to counter strike and half life deathmatch. This is a very impressive work of art made in Unreal Engine 3, and the area with the huge watefalls into the abyss. it was the first time i felt amazed by a map

Its pretty bad when people are too stupid to figure out how to install something so they give it a negative review.
This DLC is great, its the same base game but on a new map. I found it a little irritating at first it seemed where ever i spawned there was a raptor there waiting to kill me. But now that ive got my base set up in some ancient ruins and i have a mini volcano island LOADED with metal rocks im pretty happy.

The game is a lot of fun... if it works... My current rig is a decent setup with win10 pro, AMD FX 6300 six core processor, 16GM of RAM, with an Nvidia GTX 960 GPU. So even though i dont have the top of the line rig its decent and shouldnt have any trouble running anything. But Ark likes to be un-cooperative. I can play Ark on official servers usually with no problem. server lag here and there but over all not bad. However when i try to join some friends in a privately owned/rented server it just doesnt want to work. For instance they are playing on the center map, i logon to their server and lag like hell, its un-playable. but if i join another server of the same map in back at 60 fps with no issues. Its almost like the game itself is Bi-polar. If you have a low end pc i highly suggest you stay away from this game.

Great Expansion to the ever growing game that ark has become. One of my favorite maps on the game, I definatly recommend The Center!

Love the map. Beautiful, creative...there do seem to be a few areas on the map near the Skull island that are more laggy that most other areas of the map. We have our own server and have several survivors always fussing about lag in the southern area of the map and a couple of them have quite nice video cards. Able to do any optimizations for video on that area? 4 out of 5 stars....IMO

For everyone having issues installing the DLC. This is how I resolved it.
1. Find Ark: Survival Evolved in your Library list.
2. Right click on it, click Properties.
3. The properties dialog appears. Click on the DLC tab.
4. The DLC window will show all the DLC you have for the game. If you've tried to obtain it from the steam store, it should have it there. The Install checkbox may be checked, but the status will probably be "Not Installed.
5. Untick the Install box. Click Close.
6. Reopen the Properties, go back to the DLC tab, check the Install box. Click Close. This should force the download to occur. Check your current downloads for an 1.8gb ARK update.
