How is this game not more popular?
Pros:
-The steering feels amazing
-Vehicles/ship/whatever-you-wanna-call-it all feel different from each other
-Power ups are fun to use
-The boost/shield energy usage is a cool way to balance aggressive and defensive play
-Maps look REALLY fucking good
Cons:
-Needs a minimap for new player experience, you know, the mario kart kind
-No spectate after finish, at least give us a map with player positions

It's Wipeout. I am going to try and get gold rating in every event. Been playing online with a friend. Modding seems awesome, will check it out when I am done with the trials and stuff. This game does not require much to run. I get 60.6 fps @ 1440p on a Radeon 5 Pro 4650 GE no GPU. It is fast.

This is pretty much my favourite racing game available on steam if not one of my absolute favourite games on the platform. this game is an absolute love letter to everything that WipEout was. at it's core it takes the gampley of WipEout 3 and makes something of it's own with it and absolutely succeeds at that. It has that floaty physics heavy gameplay that the PS1 WipEouts had, while not as punishing as those games but just as satisfying to execute. The game is full of nods or just little details that are an homage to pretty much every WipEout while not living in the shadow of them, which makes the game an extra treat to someone like me who has WipEout as one of their special interests. Like even the blast doors from Fusion make an appearance and they arent frustrating this time. Each of the teams being a call back to a WipEout team, the speed classes being synonyms of the WipEout speed classes. The game modes of the game are the usual returnees from the WipEouts ontop of some new ones which the Devs created on their own. Ontop of all this it has a second play style that changes the games physics and mechanics to be that of the more modern WipEouts(Pure-2048). It results in a game that scratched an Itch that has long needed to be scratched for nearly a decade. The teams cover the bases that need to be covered. the tracks are well designed and satisfying to race through, the soundtrack get vibes this game needs(is also fantastic), which all perfectly compliment the gameplay the game has. While i have a few gripes with the game(some gamemodes i wasn't the biggest fan of, and the difficulty can feel a tad unfair at times at the higher difficulties, etc), those are just nitpicks in the grand scheme of things, none of which really detracted for the sheer Ecstasy that i was having while playing this game. While this game doesn't completely fill the WipEout shaped void in my heart, it more than anything is an absolutely fantastic racing game. This game is worth it at full price or sale, i'm gonna obnoxiously push this game onto my friends whenever they bring up wanting a racing game, The devs should be very proud of what they achieved with this.

This game is good. I have barely touched all the content, nor the mods, but it is good. The best part is the options..you can change almost everything to your liking. I especially appreciate the "FOV" setting telling you what it 'actually' sets the FOV to. 68 is actually 90 degrees=this is the correct setting with no stretching or zooming. I don't care if people want to make things all weird, but having it correct is crucial to me. It affects depth perception and therefore: how accurate you are. This game isn't wipeout, but it is VERY very similar. The only thing is the physics are only slightly more "sticky," and it doesn't have the double tap side dash. What I really love, is that there is a fully detailed and diverse cockpit for each craft. WipeoutHD collection wouldn't let you see the cockpit unless you used VR..which I don't. The sound is pretty good and the music is ok. I'm, again, comparing this to WipeoutHD Collection. The game seems to run really well, and you can change the graphics style to PS1 limitations if you wish. The tracks seem alot easier than Wipeout, but maybe because I played alot of that game..idk, but I don't regret buying this game at all and I see there are alot of tracks that people have created.

If you have fond memories of the original Playstation, Psygnosis, and Wipeout/XL/3 then, at risk of stating the obvious, BallisticNG is an homage and love letter to those things. Well worth buying.

I like two kinds of driving games: slow, relaxing, and atmospheric, and blisteringly fast and chaotic. This is the latter. At Spectre class and above my eyes water after from not blinking through a race. I love the graphics, love the amount of detail put into the map surroundings. Even at full price this game is 110% worth every penny.
This game has a good campaign giving you plenty to do, but multi is where it's at. Splitscreen multiplayer is so fun! It should be an expectation for any game. Sadly I never see people in public multiplayer. Maybe it doesn't have a lobby, maybe it's dead, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Gift this to your driving game friend and have a great time. I'll be coming back to this game yearly.

A loving omage to classic WipeOut but with a ton of content and polish. It's not just a Wipeout clone but a new modern game that stands on it's own two legs. Must play for anti-gravity racing fans.

In its current state, the philosophy behind BallisticNG is perfect: The (2) developers created a Wipeout inspired base game, with a handful of vehicles/tracks/modes, and gave modding tools to the community to do with it as they please.
Pros:

Still supported by the (2!) developers.

Mod support.

Can be played on a toaster oven (low spec requirement).

Plays like the Wipeout of old.

Cons:

Can't use the toaster oven while playing.

*Special thanks to the modding community for creating some pretty amazing things.
