So I would just like too say this DLC is a new refreshment over Ubersreik and Castle Drachenfels. For many of the people complaining I don't know, why. Some say because their is no new weapons, and other say because their is no dwarves. Well first of all their is new weapons, pickaxes and a shimmed swords. Then the people saying their is no dwarves. Well thats "Bull*shit" because on half of the damn missions their were dead dwarves everywhere. Also you talk too a dwarf on a certain mission, not going too spoil it. Also it's a new sight over a dark, cloudy, rainy cities and castles. All the missions take place in snow or in temples. So the people saying their is no new view of the land, thats stupid of them because their is. Also I like how people are complaining about meeting a live dwarf or whatever, but yet not a single person will complain about how, Ubersreik and Castle Dranchenfels you didn't meet a single person, you "god*damn" hypocrites. So for the people complaining about those things I say too you do your research or actually look around... Thank you for reading this review

there are 3 maps, which all seems fine, but the cursed rune is clearly a map that i feel have overdone it. The scenery is amazing, the phasing is great, and the times you find yourself in open areas like on a frozen lake or in a large courtyard of a dwarven keep, feels just the perfect amount of overwhelming, without actually being that.

More Vermintide is never a bad thing and this time our heroic quintet of vermin stompers travel to the dwarven city of Karak Azgaraz to exterminate the Skaven infesting its ancient halls. The expansion contains three fully fledged maps and two rather mediocre weapons, but since this is more or less always picked up during the sales I find it a fair exchange for a great change in scenery from the streets and sewers of Ubersreik. It is more content for an already excellent game, and if you want it all this is a great DLC to add for some dwarven extravaganza with a sprinkling of ancient grudges on top. Oh, and the banter is top notch as always..

Stunning environments, very chill music to suit the new areas. You can hear your feet in the snow the ice covered lake groans as you are attacked by Patrols of SV. New weapon for Dwarf and Witch hunter. Class Map pack.

Summary: Good visuals and cool open spaces, but relatively lifeless and devoid of any real new gameplay. Buy it on sale if you can wait. Visuals: The levels feel *huge*, especially outdoor scenes. Rats appear snowy outside, and the dwarven halls are beautifully crafted. The precise and grandiose feeling of dwarven architecture is far removed from the rough cave networks, cluttered spaces, and ruins seen in early levels and a welcome change of scenery. The dwarven architecture actually seemed to lead to many good chokepoints for defense, which I thought was a testament to the implementation. The outdoor settings feel expansive, and feels like you are exploring, rather than being led through an area. Content: Unfortunately those spaces ended up feeling lifeless, as there was very little in the way of items or content to be found. Once we find a critical path there will likely be next to no reason to wander through, and much of the beautiful areas will likely be unappreciated. That being said we searched high and low and didn't find all the tomes and grimoires; so there may be more reason once we find those. However with the huge levels finding little books truly feels like finding a needle in a haystack. Not only are there more nooks and crannies, there is a larger amount of terrain to cover, making the job even more tedious. Gameplay: There seems to be a higher emphasis on more chaotic combat while also forcing you into positions where rats come from all sides, so that's nice. Exploring the levels left me disappointed that I didn't either find useful items, or that they didn't make use of the great levels when planning the level mechanics. Challenges during levels were just unique enough to pass as new, but felt mostly like a different take on things we've done before. Recommendation: All in all it's not a terrible DLC if you have the money. Just go into it knowing that you're paying for new visual effects and scenery rather than cool new mechanics or content, so you're not disappointed. I'd feel better about buying it when it's on sale, as it's hard to justify the price without good content to back up the visuals.

The two snowy outdoors map Chain of Fire and the Cursed Rune are gorgeous, with the latter perhaps being my favorite map in the game to date. Khazid Kro the dwarven hold is cavernous and impressive but feels a little lifeless in comparison and lacks features to truly set it apart and make it a memorable map to play.

Would recommend. The levels are very unique compared to the others and offer a wide variety of new objectives while some objectives ofcourse being somewhat familiar to the ones in the original levels. I would say the strength of this dlc however is in its looks. The maps look damn good, larger than life, very open and far less linear than most of the other levels in the game. You can do a lot of adventuring and it will take you many playthroughs to find every nook and crany of these levels. If you are looking to experience breathtaking views, epic battles across snowy mountain peaks and travel through the innerds of a very well designed dwarven karak, then you will find those experiences here.

Even though you can play the new maps for free and get the new weapons there, I decided to buy this DLC to host games for my friends and support the developer. As for the maps themself, I think they are the best maps in the game at the moment. They look stunning and have some neat new mechanics. In addition to the DLC, the game got a huge path whitch rebalanced a few weapons so they are are viable, made the game way more optimised (still need proper host migration though) and other quality of life improvements. Even though I was realy happy with it al launch, I think it went a long way since then and is in a way better place right now.

So people complain a bit about the general price vs. content of this game. Yes you have to pay for this DLC, but its pleasant to get a new location added to the main game. All 3 missions are fun and in the same spirit as the rest of the game (except everything is icey-white instead of just grey rock...). If you like the game, get it, it does add new music to the new locations as well so the developers have thought this through. SO: this game is still a blast after these few years, get this DLC and keep enjoying it. The only -ve thing is I would personally like to see a "last stand" location for this DLC and also the past Drachenfels DLC. As much as this game has its fans, in order to stay alive it needs more content. But they have really optimised the game this time around, so dont make the mistake of thinking the developers dont care about the game... They really should add a new massive location though, like Altdorf (Yes, I am a warhammer geek), with tons of new levels and perhaps new mechanics (engine allowing...).

This is more content than it seems if you enjoy Vermintide. Yes, it's only 3 missions and [strike]a weapon[/strike] two weapons. But got knows how many times I'll walk those three missions or swing that pick. Probably a great many. Fighting in Vermintide is like pinball. You either love it and you can do it for hours, or you hate it and you don't see the point. Do you love pinball? Then you should get these three new playfields and custom bumpers. Do you hate pinball? Then get out of our ice caves! :D
