I love Motorhead but holy sh*t, their song playing endlessly as soundtrack turned out to be very annoying, I don't know why. However, good and fun content package. Loved the two new weapons. Very hard and very satisfying bosses too. Edit: I don't know why it's marking 0 hours played, but I finished this DLC campaign.

This DLC is a disappointment. I had high hopes for this going in since I love the base game but it disappoints on just about every level. Also a word of warning for casual gamers, do not get this since it is aimed squarely at the hardcore crowd. In this review I will talk about the story, the gameplay, the loot and the technical aspects. Story The story is okay, not fantastic but not bad either. I liked the voice acting of the main character (despite some of the rubbish lines he is given) and the narrator, the rest of the voice actors were middling. Some environments you encounter through the story are pretty cool but some are painted in boring brown so it's a mixed bag in terms of visuals. The main story bosses are also a mixed bag, the first two are interesting and unique but the third one is a boring gated fight. Overall, the story isn't as good as the base game. Gameplay The gameplay takes a big step backwards from the main game. This is because of some extremely poor enemy design. You have one enemy which will facetank most weapons fired to its front while regenerating health. It will literally outregen the damage output of some weapon classes, you are meant to attack it from the back but it has a large health pool, short daze duration and large angle of attack. You have another enemy that is extremely high damage and superquick while being almost impossible to dodge, another one that wil take out most characters on Normal with only 2 Hex in a single hit. Please note that those are not bosses or mini bosses, they are mere mobs and what I have described are only a few examples of largely poor enemy design in this expansion pack. Loot This DLC comes with a good amount of loot, there are two new weapon classes, heaps of new destiny cards, new demon powers, a few new outfits and a new addition in talismans. That's got to be a good thing, right? Wrong, it is completely irrelevant because while it might have some value for loot hoarders, 95% of it is completely underpowered due to the new enemies. In fact, you are far better off going with an Overdrive focused build that will let you spam demon attacks at the edge of the screen unless you want to die every minute. Technical Aspects My computer specs are 1080 GTX, 16Gb of RAM and i7 CPU. With those specs, the game performs well on 2560 x 1600 resolution. Having said that, I have encountered a number of freezes and crashes, something that I didn't encouter in the base game.

like the game, like the band, like rock. the theme also reminds me of Ready Player Two (the book) because of the weaponized guitars which is a nice touch. It's a bold move blending a video game and a rock band but I think it turned out well. This DLC is underrated.

The only reason to buy this DLC is the new weapons. The campaign is quite short and not really interesting at all. The music is highly repetitive and sounds like clashing symbols constantly banging in your head, so I muted it after a few hours. Even if you're a Motorhead fan, you'll get sick of hearing them while playing this. Aside from the audio racket and new gear, it's pretty much more of the same Victor Vran, but without the charm that makes the base game so enjoyable. Boss fights were fun though.

3 unique words is the biggest scam I've seen in my life for any game describtion. 1 world is not 2-3maps. The whole DLC is 2 hours of playing content wise, totaling to a whopping 8 maps-..... or something. And in my honest opinion, 3 unique worlds is a huge let down.
Mötorhead Through The Ages
This is the best what could happend with Victor Vran! A huge campaing with new items, new maps, new challenges! Ride the guitar and unleash rock'n'roll power on underworld beasts! Sometimes this dlc is better than main campaing and here the reason why - 1. A lot of story about Motorhead 2. New challenges, even more hardcore than in main campaing 3. Very enjoyable and replayable cause it's not so long 4. Also there is many collectibles and other cool things 5. Motorhead's music! 6. Interesting achievements 7. New equipment like guitars, costumes, Demon powers or Cards. Unfortunately I've found a few bad things here. Not enough songs. I suppose song Orgasmatron is supposed to be more convenient for Orgasmatron boss-fight, than song Ace Of Spades. Also some challenges just insane. But this is no matter. Motorhead's dlc is a great gift for Victor Vran players and especially for Motorhead's and Lemmy's fans. I strongly recommend this dlc for this price - it's worth it. 666 headbanging skeletons from 666

Hello friends, Today i will review the DLC for the game Victor Vran called MOTORHEAD THRU THE AGES. This dlc features music from the group motorhead. There are also collectibles where you can collect album covers and band member pictures. It also features new maps and new weapons. These new weapons are revolver guns and guitars, which can also be legendary variety. There are also monuments of rocks that are like monster magnets where you fight a lot of monsters at once, making them challenging. Also, new demon powers, new outfits, new enemies, new bosses. new destiny cards, and many other things. If your a fan of Motorhead and ARPG's this is by far the best combination of both worlds. If you like metal rock like this, i also recommend checking out brutal legend on steam too. https://store.steampowered.com/app/225260/Brutal_Legend/

I really like the Haemimont Games approach on the ARPG genre, pretty challenging and fun, but they really bad at DLC. Full-fledged story branches related to the main plot with full-fledged new locations, characters, personalized enemies instead of faceless hordes and some new gameplay mechanics are not about them. DLCs are either utilize previously used materials making you repeat almost identical levels over and over again, with bits of voiced text as the reward, or presenting something totally unrelated to the base game, neither by the universe, plot or atmosphere. It’s hard to understand this logic. Victor Vran is a niche game, already. Motorhead fans among game fans even more niche. I also doubt that there are many of those who may like such a drastic change in atmosphere, style and time of events. Even being a fan of both Victor Vran and Motorhead. If the original Victor Vran was a holistic game with a defined style and atmosphere, in the DLC there is some kind of a motley mixture of everything that looks bad together and looks even worse combined with the elements of the original game. I have given this DLC a try but I couldn't stand it. I think such things should be designed as stand-alone content, with its own features and overall style (see Brutal Legend, for example). Trying to shove incompatible things into Victor Vran universe, simply because developers have no other universe where tribute like this can be added seamlessly, looks half-baked and disconnected. To sum it up, this DLC has enough content, new maps, weapon and enemy types. Though, it could have worked better if it was just Victor Vran related expansion without all those Motorhead-themed installations stuffed into the levels or if it was stand-alone Motorhead-themed tribute without relation to Victor Vran.

[Link to my review of the base game included down below.] If you were to tell me that a DLC expansion for Victor Vran would involve Llyod "Tromoville" Kaufman, Victor Vran and Lemmy Kilmister fighting Hitler, a corrupt preacher with a demonic train, and a vampiress named after a Mötorhead classic to restore a hell guardian named Snaggletooth, then I would think you're absolutely bonkers. This actually exists, and in some way that alone was worth the price of admission for an otherwise "okay" addition. Now I should preface this review in stating that I only possess the Mötorhead expansion, so the Fractured Worlds could add more content to an otherwise fun experience for casual fans of Victor Vran and Metalheads.
Got a Question?
Is this a new end-game expansion to continue over existing characters? Not ideally. You can carry over existing characters; however, I would highly encourage new characters not only to get the full introduction but also to get any sense of challenge out of your initial run. There does not seem to be any level-scaling or a way to start the Elite Challenges, which I am assuming are new features from the expansion, if you finished the main-game. How much content/longevity is added? I got five and a half hours of all the story & normal challenge areas from a new character on the Normal Difficulty who reached Level 20+ by the end. Before you bring up a complaint to the devs, I do want to stress that there are the Elite Challenges as well as the possibility that Fractured Worlds is meant to be an addition to this new campaign as it promotes Lv 20 characters, so I did not cover all the content in my time. What gameplay add-ons are included in the DLC? You get two new weapon categories, which makes the current total into ten weapon types, revovlers and guitars. There are also various new demon powers with rock-and-roll variations for names that I did not try out a whole lot, but they do offer more playstyles based on their descriptions. In addition to these new attack abilities, there is also three new outfits I have not seen nor found and new legendary items for both the expansion and base-game weapons. To my surprise, the guitars were my favorite new inclusion as they act as a wide-spread ranged lightning gun with a mobility power like the tomes and a unique dazed effect, Headbanging, and combined with the shockwave power is a suitable pair. While I liked the revolvers, I found the auto-aiming on a controller stick to be unresponsive as I would often not fire in the direction of an enemy; however, the vulnerable effect at the end of the base attack and the combos are very effective, unique additions to VV's arsenal. For the new areas, there are three new larger maps with four/five challenge areas and three bosses. While I did like the mechanics and spectacle of the first two bosses, I felt the Queen of the Damned was a rehash of some older boss mechanics and little else, but her inclusion is welcomed. I was more pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of three more enemy variants that solved the issue I had with the base game as well as limiting the number of enemies that require overkill. Are there any glarring issues with the expansion? I did notice that my performance was noticably worse in the expansion versus the base-game when I compared them side-by-side when the action became bonkers. At one point with at least 50+ enemies, my performance went from 60 to at least 20, but I could have lowered my settings further if needed. I imagine this is an issue that will be resolved much like the auto-aiming for revovlers (unless that is meant to balance for PVP). I also found that the guitar memorials would sometimes take a while to spawn the next wave, so I had to walk back-and-forth to trigger them. If you do go with a new character, be sure to build properly to account for the difficulty scaling as the poison effects and numerous projectiles toward the middle/end-game will murder you. As a positive to the devs for tweaking the scaling, I do want to praise how challenges work now as standard challenges are feasible while the elite challenges are the more notorious struggles of VV. It makes the rewards you get, especially for a new run, far more beneficial. Would I be interested in this DLC? That question largely depends on how much the spectacle appeals to you vs. the content offered. As a fan of Brutal Legend and of progressive rock and heavy metal bands like Sonata Arctica and Hammerfall, I absolutely was giddy to see every enemy rocking their heads--sadly not the bosses, but how would a train headbang? I knew the name Mötorhead and a few of the band's songs but I'm not a die-hard fan, and admittedly you can recreate the soundtrack of this game by putting on your mixtape as every song is based on the band. Now this is a personal taste problem but I was hoping for more than just Mötorhead as I cannot tell the difference between Overkill--a song I chuckled whenever I overkilled an enemy--and Ace of Spades. (It's like the dilemma of Indiana Jones vs. the Superman Theme.) As a result, I took frequent breaks to not let the music kill my enjoyment of the expansion. However, as a DLC tribute to the late Lemmy post-rockdom, I can live with this grievance. Oh, and if you know Lloyd Kaufman and are worried that the humor would reach Tromoville-levels you can be assured (or saddened) that there's nothing overtly gross. It was touching to see Lemmy and Lloyd's friendship from real-life put into a game blaring one's vocals and the other's wit.
To Rock-N-Roll Off Into the Stagelights
I imagine this additional content will be the last we'll see for Victor Vran until his sequel, and there are far worse ways to celebrate the end of something wonderful. If you enjoyed Victor Vran and don't mind replaying its greatest hits of gameplay as an encore show, then I think you'll enjoy going out with style.

I absolutely love Motorhead but I cannot recommend this DLC...because of Motorhead. I bought this game + the DLC just because I got Brutal Legend vibes watching videos as well as my love for the band but weirdly enough what ruins this DLC is the music. I have played about 1 and a half hours & have heard "We Are The Road Crew" what feels like 12+ times. Despite Motorheads insane catalog of songs, it feels like they only got maybe 10 for this game. Songs volume increase/decrease as you enter & exit areas while dodging enemy attacks [boss or large encounters areas increase the volume size], songs will suddenly end & skip to a new one [seems to be based on Checkpoints], at default music volume it will drown everything else out, etc. I found myself repeatedly hitting mute in the inventory menus just so I could hear myself think...eventually I turned the music down to about 20%, but when I realized I was having more fun playing the game on mute I decided to stop & write this review. This is a good lesson in sound design...you can't just get a small assortment of songs, hit shuffle & call it a day. I feel if this DLC had an original soundtrack that complimented the ARPG game type, inspired by Motorhead, it would be much better. For example I already mentioned this game but listen to Brutal Legends original soundtrack when you are just roaming the world. Full Motorhead tracks could be saved for the jukebox in the hubworld as well as boss fights, so when you hear them it feels like a treat & gives you "fuck yeah here we go I was waiting for Killed By Death" rather than "Oh here's Ace Of Spades for the 20th time but slightly louder". The gameplay is decent, the mechanics are alright & it works as a good tribute to Lemmy as well as Motorhead with all the visual inspiration...but ironically enough the sound design is what kills this DLC. Now I'm gonna continue playing but giving it a shot with Motorheads music through Spotify playing on shuffle instead on low. Not sure how much it'll help...but I guarantee already it'll be better than whats set up in game.
