It's fun to see the turrets in first person, but it gets old after an hour. After that you're left with a mediocre tower defense game with bad controls and boring design. I'd rather just go play BTD 6 or Sanctum 2.

This game seems like fun... but the Oculus Rift-S controllers do not work in this game. I tried contacting them a few times and the ignored me fully. I asked steam for a refund and it is pending now.If you have a Rift-S don't buy the game!!!

Tower Defense brought to near life. I stumbled across this title thanks to the folks at VRupload.com The game came reccomended by thier staff so I figured I would give the title my money and see if the positive review was on point for me. I will preface that I generally am not a fan of most Tower Defense type games, to date, the only TD game that held my attention was Plants vs. Zombies for its entertaining presentation and gameplay. Kittypocalypse has shown me the future of TD games. While it contains a loose story that provides mild entertainment, the game shines in execution. The tutorial is crisp and quick and needed for your first play through.
The ability to zoom, spin, and manipulate the map in full 3D space turns what could have been a TD clone into a full on giggle riot and breaths air of life into the title. Well crafted assets and terrain design make blasting kitties to green alien goo provide plenty of incentive to build solid defenses and zip to ground level and watch the mayhem unfold.
The skirmish mode offers solid challenge and the campaign is worth a play through (I am at 10/15 levels at this time). My children (teen and pre teen) both picked up base mechanics quickly and we took turns watching each other play and giving advice to stop the kitty hordes. We all found the title to be enjoyable with plenty of pick up and replayability.
Not a VR game to introduce 1st timers to, but one to share with those who have spent some time with the VR unit of their choice. This has found a place with me and my minions, and I look forward to hours more of play. You would be wise to pick this up even if you are not a fan of the genre, as you will be after playing.
http://bolverkgames.com/ has done the genere a favor here with this quality title, and the possibilities for TD and RTS games on the VR platforms are limitless and waiting for more worthy games to be crafted and shared to the world.

Fantastic VR experience. It works better seated, in my opinion, as controls will allow you to turn around the level pretty easily. I spent many hours on it completing the campaign. Some points can be annoying due to the lack of a way to select a specific target for turrets, but this doesn't detract to the experience.
I have already recommended the game to my all my friends, so I will recommend it here as well.

So, I never thought I'd be the tower defense type, but this game opened my eyes to it. It's a very well done game for vr and I never had much issues with it. Sadly I beat it quite quickly, once of normal and once on hard. I do wish it had a lot more levels because if you do manage to do them without fail, you will beat the game in your first day if you can stay on vr for extended periods of time.
Still well worth getting it in my eyes however. It's story line isn't going to win a contest, but it's enough to keep the game moving. At that, immersion wise, it's not bad, but not great. You don't constantly think about how in this world you are a massive human who just makes towers. Or at least I didn't. The look of the game is very fitting in my eyes, and there are a good amount of alien cats to attack. It's without a doubt no shooter (though i do wish that was an aspect of it because that could add a bit more player immersion to the game.) but it is definitely a pretty good tower defense in my eyes.
Should you buy it?
If you think it looks interesting from the video and pictures then yes with out a doubt I am willing to be you will enjoy it. Like I said I never thought I would like a tower defense and the vr aspect to it makes it pretty nice as well if you enjoy vr as much as I do.
If you don't think you will enjoy it I would say you can give it a try, maybe find out like I did, because it is possible to return games as long as you are within the guide lines.
If you without a doubt do not like tower defense but you think the vr aspect could change that, MAYBE try it. And if you don't like it return it. But it's up to you in the long run.
Final notes:
It's not a long game, but there is progression so you aren't going to fly through it in an hour. You'll enjoy it on normal then maybe try hard, or just go right to hard. I think going into it on hard will make it more challenging then normal and in turn more enjoyable but it's up to you what you do with it once bought.

Definitely one of my favorite games for the Vive. This is a must have for anyone who loves the tower defense genre. This along with Quar: Battle for Gate 18 are two games that I think really take advatage of the room scale and controllers for a great game that is not one of the cookie cutter demos that have been coming out lately. This is close to AAA game quality and well worth your purchase.

This game made me want to vomit very quickly. The camera doesn't move with your head, and if you get close enough it will switch from panning to zooming.
There are workarounds (keep the view zoomed out, don't move your head too much) but you can't really see what's going on at that point. Refunded.

+ Many types and levels of towers - effective against many different types of kitties!
+ Nice graphic - it not might be obvious from flat screenshots, but this game is surprisingly beautiful
+ Free view - You can position camera to view over the battle or make yourself small and observe kitties from the ground (but you don't have to move while playing if it makes you motion sick).
- Stupid turrets - sometimes even when placed on perfect spot, turrets just shoot ground or target wrong kitties; it is shame you cannot hop into a turret yourself.
- Cannot set difficulty in skirmish (default one is insane) - 3 difficulty levels only in campaign mode; if you are in the middle of hard campaign and want relaxed gameplay or maybe show it to a beginner? well, the only option is to start again easy campaign and lost progress in hard one.
- Most time you need to look down which might hurt your neck after a long game session.
- Some achievements don't work - or there is no way to get some of them due to the difficulty
• Generally, this genre of games might not be much better in VR than on screen like other genres, at least with the current generation of headsets. In slow-paced games with a lot of waiting or just observing, you can feel the weight of your headset - but at least you have better view and control over the battlefield.

Solid game. Since it looks like the dev is watching these reviews, please add an option to take manual control of a turret, that would increase the meow factor.
