The Poison Wind Globadier was done right.
+ It adds a unit to the game that feels different (support unit that denies areas)
+ Usable for the chaos fractions which adds to the mixed feeling of the fraction.
+ new, unique skills
- price is a bit high for 1 Unit
Recommended.

Possibly one of the best hero classes in the game. His ability to create very dangerous choke points makes him well worth the money.

Nicely balanced but suitably heroic unit that fits into a Skaven warband well. Grenadier class.

An awesome unit that adds a lot to the game and the playstyle of the factions that can use it. Worth the money.

A lot of people regard this unit as being less than the smuggler. I'd say this is one of the most powerful units in the entire game. Generally always going to be your MVP if you are playing him right, and if you want to go all out damage, throw this guy into the midst of things with weeping blades, and a gas bomb. The ticks of damage the enemies get from sitting in your clouds, combined with the high damage of weeping blades, and the tick damage afterwards which statcks, you've got one dead person. Probably in a single round if you managed to get all your hits. Later on, once you've leveled this guy up, he'll probably be your main source of damage with moves like Vital Strike. Once you are doing pumping Weapon Skill, move on to Accuracy, and watch this guy become a crit machine.

Chemical Warfare, in Mordheim!! What's not to love.... The DLC's add additional fun to the Skaven and who doesn't love cathcing 4 enemies and 3 of your guys in one lovely gas bomb!

Combining this particular unit, while very immersion breaking, with the Undead, is a recipe for incredible success.
Toss poison repeatedly; unless you're using ghouls, your units are immune to poison, and it locking an enemy in combat ensures consistent damage.
Also solid zone control with an a stellar array of build options for melee or ranged.
I am a fan.

Pros:
-Zone control type unit
-Basically Twitch from League of Legends
-Fun new combat options and tactics
-Solid early ranged hero for both factions
Cons:
-Paid content for one hero type
-Immersion breaking - this is the only rat troop available to the Chaos forces
-Generally worse than the smuggler on all fronts
Overall: Like the smuggler, the globadier is a zone control character. However, while the smuggler creates mines that detonate when enemies run over them, the globadier creates poison clouds that damage all who come inside of them. This is decidedly less useful than mines, and the globadier fits less smoothly into the evil faction warbands. For the Skaven, the globadier feels too slow, and for the Chaos forces, he's a rat among mutated humans. Still, he is a solid ranged unit that can dish out the damage early on.
I take issue with paying even a measley $2 for a single unit type, but he is fun. I have a thing for field control, and it's worth unlocking at some point if you enjoy the game at all for the strategies he brings with him.
Bottom Line: Worth it if you like the base game.

I really hope they don't start balancing the game around these DLC units. The price feels fair, but locking such a big strategic advantage behind a paywall is pretty scummy.

Do you like playing as Skaven? Do you like the idea of placing AoE that debuff the enemy foolish enough to find themselves in said cloud? What about buffing your own faction? How about debuffing foolish enemies that try to engage you in melee combat? If you've said yes to any of the above then the Poison Wind Globadier is the troop for you.
Being able to deny areas of the map while applying damage and debuffs make these warriors worth every penny. Pesky enemy spellcaster got you down just throw out a choking cloud and watch his spells dry up. As an added bonus throw on some warplock pistols for added range. Don't like guns, well arm it with weapons and watch him apply poison to them.
As an added bonus this troop is immune to many of the stupid traps that seem to plague the streets of Mordheim.
All in all I rate this troop 6 wyrdstone clusters.
