There is no greater joy than spotting and fixing a bottleneck in your production line.

I was back and forth about this game for a while. It has never gone on sale that I have seen so the devs obviously know they have a gem and people will pay for it. It is a unique and fun take on the factory builder style games. The bugs are a little annoying and get overwhelming so I suggest disabling them on your first play through. Other than that, it is a fun all around game.

As someone who loves to play building games, I absolutely love factorio and the multiplayer set-up is fantastic

Possibly my greatest addiction, and the mods make it substantially more so.

The reason I'm not recommending this is [i]definitely not[/i] that I think it's a bad game. It presents a game loop a lot of people enjoy, and does it well. But there is an audience who want something [i]similar[/i] to what Factorio is, but which it [i]isn't quite[/i], and given that it's already popular, well-liked and critically-acclaimed I think the most useful review I can write is one that warns others like me who [i]think[/i] they're the target audience, but aren't. Because you might look at Factorio and think "ooh, a game about solving logistics problems, I want that". And while it isn't [i]not[/i] that, it's [i]less[/i] about [i]solving[/i] the problems than it is about [i]re-solving[/i] them, taking your solutions apart to replace them with something marginally better. To some, this is [i]very[/i] compelling. But to those who feel okay with doing things "well enough", there is far less satisfaction in that. If you have never finished a game and thought "I bet that'd be fun to speedrun", you are probably not the right type of perfectionist. And if you are at all prone to the sunk cost fallacy, having to tear down what you just built because you can (and probably should, and will [i]eventually[/i] need to) make it slightly faster, or slightly more resource-efficient, or slightly more extensible, or slightly more able to adapt to inconsistent supply and demand... is [i]maddening[/i]. If you, like me, match [i]both[/i] those descriptions, you get all the frustration and none of the satisfaction at the end to make up for it. You may have an okay time in the early-game, where solving a problem doesn't require you to un- and re-solve a bunch of already-solved problems. Every once in a while you may even return to the game, because you remember that part. But before long the game will go in the same direction as last time, and you'll be reminded that you don't want to follow it. It may live up to the hype if you're part of the target audience. But some who think they'll fall in love with the game end up burning out and bouncing off and getting little out of it. If anything makes you think that might be you, listen to that.

Crazy good game! For automation freaks like myself xD.

With nearly a thousand hours in this game, and a lot of sleepless nights because of it, i think i can confidently say: This game is truly addicting!

Part of the steam holy trinity, Rimworld - Factorio - Stardew Valley. Three games that you can recommend to every single human being on planet earth. Buy it.
