all these haters for what... my friend and I came across a couple of rough patches, but it ultimately was a skill issue on both of our parts would ABSOLUTELY recommend if you want to play a quick horror game with friends <3

Please make another co-op game, even if it's a lot of work!! Legitimately one of the most fun experiences a bite-sized horror experience could offer. Hilariously funny to have a few laughs, and get scared. Can't recommend it enough for the price tag. It would have been nice to get the friend pass treatment, but I think the price is justified for what it offers, and the replay value too, especially to see it from the other person's perspective. My favorite Fears to Fathom episode yet. Not narrative-wise, as this one seems a bit harder to believe is real, but just the fact that you get to experience it together in a unique and fun way that plays nicely into the mechanics. Big recommend.

I am a fan of this type of game, especially the "Fears to Fathom" series. I've played every part, so I was thrilled when a new chapter was announced. I bought it immediately after it was released. I played it with my boyfriend, and in a way, it was fun because of the number of bugs we encountered. The game has a good atmosphere, and it was genuinely a little scary for me because I can relate to situations like these, especially when someone is knocking at your door and you know their intentions are not good. We had to listen to the parsonage story about five times, and I hated it. There should be an option to skip long dialogues because we kept getting stuck and had to restart. The first time happened because Marcus was in the bathroom when Tessa took a bath, which prevented the bathroom door from opening. A couple of other times we got stuck in textures and had no choice but to restart the game. The chase was difficult, so difficult that we kept restarting over and over again. Eventually, I gave up and watched a YouTube video to figure out how to escape. Then came the part where we had to get into the truck and leave. I can't even count how many times we tried before it finally worked. Overall, I had fun, especially during the beginning of the game. I think it needs some polishing, and once the bugs are fixed, it will be easy to say that this is another good entry in the "Fears to Fathom" series.

The gameplay at the end has no clear direction. All the buildup came with a very shallow payoff. Most of the game was just listening to mundane dialogue. Game was way too short.

The game is very fun and goofy (in a good way) for most of the game. This is a pretty unique co-op horror game, at least among the ones that I've played. Instead of being a puzzle-type game where you have to find out what the monster is or simply run away from some monster, this game follows a more story-driven narrative that reminds me more of singleplayer games. Although through the advent of the game being co-op, the experience is quite a bit more fun. Unfortunately the experience severely drops off towards the end of the short 2 hour experience. All you have to do is run away from brain dead NPCs and guess where you have to go, causing you to have to restart over and over which really sours the otherwise fun game. This is what this game and so many others do poorly about horror games, where the "monster" you have to escape from is hard to figure out and thus you spend many attempts figuring out which path the game has set out for you. As such it loses the compelling and otherwise fascinating mysteries that were built up in the beginning of the game, and turns into a boring game of "find the 1 out of many ways the devs intended for you to go, while having to restart the same sequence multiple times". There are also way too many invisible walls.

Steam Deck: We decided to use our Steam Decks to try this game. The game doesnt support the controller gameplay out of the box, but after mapping a few extra buttons, including L4, L5, R4, and R5, it worked surprisingly well! We ended up having an absolute blast with it, and the built-in Steam Deck mic worked perfectly too. Sitting in a dark room, with only the glow of the deck made the whole experience even creepier. The only thing I really missed was a few extra respawn points during the chase sequence, we failed a bunch of times because we didnt understand where to run- replaying the same stretch too many times can kill the tension a bit. Other than that, I definitely recommend it if you got a buddy to play with! Hope to see some more co-op from this series!

My husband and I played this game together. It started off fun and it was legitimately creepy in some moments. I think the concept is fun and unique. However.... I played as Tessa and it was just boring. I had to sit in the room while Marcus went and explored. There was literally nothing to do other than the one guy that knocks. Even when Tessa finally was able to leave the room it was just straight to the water and then straight back. No exploring. Nothing. The whole chase sequence is literally the most MISERABLE time I have had playing any game. No checkpoints? Seriously? I see the people talking about how its so you hit the two hour mark for no refunds. Maybe add more hiding, or more cult stuff to uncover? Like running over and over and over and over again is not it. I understood that you were supposed to get back to your car. The issue is where the hell do you go? It was very difficult to find any path and it was dark and you have to sprint and all the invisible walls... I was losing my mind. Honestly it feels like he gave up the last half of the game. Very disappointing. Rating: 4/10
