I've loved this game since it first hit on N64. it's even better with standardized controller configurations.

This game is kind of repetitive & boring, its one of those games that you play once and never touch it again and I hate responding enemies. If you want to play an old school boomer shooter, you're better off playing Doom or Quake.

I played Turok on the N64 back in the '90s and could never figure out how to get past the second level. Revisiting the remaster by Nightdive Studios almost 20 years later, I still had to follow a guide to navigate most of the puzzles and labyrinthine levels. I’m not a big fan of the level design—especially early on—but I did notice that by the final level, the game really picks up into a DOOM-like state, where fast-paced run-and-gun action takes over instead of tedious searching for hidden paths. The sound design is fantastic. The classic ""I AM TUROK"" when earning an extra life, the distant dinosaur roars, and the tribal drums and bells all work together to create the perfect atmosphere for a dinosaur-hunting adventure. The gun designs are another highlight—I found myself using the plasma rifle and minigun whenever I had ammo. However, weapon switching was a major issue; no matter how much I tried, I could never reliably cycle to the right gun using my mouse wheel or buttons, which became frustrating in combat. One thing that caught me off guard was the ending. Just when I thought I had reached the final boss, the game threw a curveball at me—so at least it had a strong (if wildly bizarre) conclusion to its insanely confusing space dinosaur pirate plot.

I had a good childhood because I grew up with boomer shooters like this one on the N64

This game is awesome! I remember playing this a lot on N64 back when I was a teen, but I had to cheat to beat it. With the remaster I was able to beat it 100% without cheats. But it is always fun to have unlimited ammo and unload with your favourite weapons!

El mejor Turok de la trilogía original. Otro excelente remaster de Nightdive. La última actualización es perfecta y arregla muchas cosas del release original. De los mejores shooters de los 90s

Decently fun and fast phased, but prepare for scouring every map for all the keys to unlock the further stages. Checking the map often usually is enough to notice any 'hidden' side paths, though. I'd recommend Turok 2 over this, it leans more into the dinosaur theme and the shooting is way more satisfying. In this one you are fighting humans too much for my liking, the enemy cast is way more fun in the second game.

Fun if you're into remastered N64 games. A lot of platforming, even more collectables, and a dash of silly dinosaur noises.
