“CAT Interstellar” is a short adventure game in 3D, where you assume control of a robotic unit named “DOG”, deployed on the surface of Mars to assist with its terraforming and with a dangerous mission into the planet’s depths. For a small independent project like this, the game feels quite impressive and packs some interesting content in the best hard-sci-fi spirit, like high-tech but decaying planetary base, fully sentient androids that will make a comment or two as you pass them by, Mars surface that looks nothing like we’re used to see it, and an ancient mystery to discover. The game is mainly about exploration of limited areas, with few interactions in the form of tasks that you perform for your fellow androids (who act very much human-like); graphics use somewhat limited set of models (it’s on a barren planet after all) but still look pretty cool, music is only a few tracks now and then but nevertheless adds to the atmosphere and helps to make the game an engaging experience. Overall this is a very good game, which I can fully recommend if you like robots, Mars and other sci-fi stuff.
