great game, but not as good as fallout 1. the pros of fallout 2: • good gameplay improvements over fallout 1, such as taking stimpacks from your inventory when you use them, instead of having you open up your inventory and put another stimpack in. • the side quests were intriguing and most of the time very worth it • generally more content overall • figuring out pieces of the main story were just as fun as in fallout 1 the cons of fallout 2: • the leveling at the final part of the game is just brutal, and there isn't enough content for you to be leveled enough for the final area, having you grind late game enemies to get enough XP • the main story, especially at the end of the game, wasn't as intriguing as the main story in fallout 1 • some of the quests were a little frustrating to figure out, and i had to look up tutorials for some of them overall, fallout 2 is good and i suggest playing it if you loved fallout 1, but don't expect a better experience

This is my fourth Fallout game so far, and it's up there with New Vegas in my top 2. This expands so much upon the scope of Fallout 1. As an NCR fan, I was happy to see some of the early days of that faction and to help it to gain much of the strength that allowed it to expand westward into New Vegas. I also think the Enclave in this game compared to 3 is much more menacing and makes more sense. Speaking with the President was chilling. While the ending of the game was probably among the easiest so far, the overall difficulty of the game was probably the highest. The game is not very forgiving, and it definitely wants you to keep optimizing your and your companions' weapons and armor as you go. While this can be annoying in the moment, I think it's much more rewarding of a system than was present in Fallout 1. I also really enjoyed many of the cities in this game compared to 1 (and some other games), with New Reno being a favorite that I barely scratched the surface of due to the character I was playing, but would definitely spend a lot more time in during future playthroughs.

Gritty, Thoughtful, Deep, Expansive, Immersive, Funny, Taboo, Dark, Depressing, Psychedelic, Provocative, Frustrating and Satisfying all in one. Ultimate fallout. I wont lie tho the old school mechanics make it a bit painful to play. Especially the relentless hit percentages ;-;

Fallout 2 is my personal favorite fallout game and in my top 3 games of all time (fallout 2, GTA V, farcry 5). Fallout 2 has the best writing of any game that iv'e ever played, it's the 2nd funniest game iv'e ever played. If you don't want to play Fallout 2 because you don't like the game mechanics of Fallout 1, don't worry Fallout 2 has greatly improved the game play and it has so many quality of life improvements.

Compared to the first Fallout game, I personally enjoyed this one way more. And yes, I don't think it aged perfectly but it's still playable after many years. I know it sounds hypocritical when I said that the first game aged horribly, but I'd say the sequel makes easier to learn how to play. So you play as the long descendant of the Vault Dweller, the same hero of the first game who
was kicked to the Wasteland after defeating the Master and saving Vault 13
. You start in a tribe in Arroyo, in Northern California. Your mission? To find the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K) to save Arroyo from radiation and to stop the evil Enclave, the remnants of the U.S.A goverment after the bombs dropped. I'd say it's more fun than the first game's plot as a personal opinion. And here comes the most hated part: gameplay. As I said, it aged badly, since the game is from 1998 and it doesn't come with tutorial (and as a personal taste, I hate turn-based games), but I consider it more familiar for new players. You don't start already in a hard enviroment, but in a place that guides you with the mechanics to understand how to play. Visually I can't say too much: the graphics are the same of the previous game with a decent style but creepy faces. And the same for the voice acting, OST and sound effects. I think 10€ might be a fair price since the game is way more long than the first Fallout, but if you want it for less price on sales it costs 2,5€. So, I truly recommend Fallout 2 over Fallout 1, since if you want to start with the franchise and want to play the classic games (those before Bethesda bought the franchise and made Fallout 3) I find it easier to learn and enjoy

Sometimes a sequel is just the first thing again, but bigger. And this is an example of that truly working. Way more of a pain to get running properly for me than 1, or Tactics, but it is so very worth it. Best played directly after 1, so the references are fresh, and without looking at a guide for everything.

This game perfectly balances the humor and dark themes of the franchise making for a fun experience for any fallout fan. My favorite part about this game is the fun melee related missions. I love melee builds in these games and this one by far had the most fun melee build so far!
