It's very confusing at first, because there are a lot of mechanics thrown at you at once and you gotta figure it out. Then it's less confusing, but still very hard to manage, juggling all the information, dog traits, two "currencies", the deckbuilding aspect and-- It's a lot. But despite being so chaotic, it's still very enjoyable. Congrats!

I feel like the original concept of this game can get quite boring but Dogpile found a way around that! There's so many different challenges and obstacles but as well as helpful fun effects! The designs are cute and there's lots of incentive to keep going or try things a different way. I like that you can play this casually or strategically because my gameplay mood changes like the moon. I'd say def give this a go!

It's okay. I'm done with the game loop after 3.7 hours, so the price is too steep.

Really fun mix of deck builder rouge-likes with suika fruit drop merge gameplay, that seems really confusing at first but is actually pretty simple. I found the gameplay loop to be pretty fun, and the different challenges each mode offers give some pretty good challenges.

The RNG is not as game-delibitating as other card-based games, and the dogs are so cute.

This is one of my favorite games! I love the new dogs and everything else added in the new update! I can't wait for this to also come out so I can play this on my phone!

A while back I read a negative review of this game that called it “as repetitive as tetris” and I don't think anyone could give it a better compliment. I have to admit I had my reservations going into this game, I feared this was a case of style over substance, and make no mistake, the presentation of this game is without a doubt its strongest quality, but I find the gameplay quite compelling as well. after the success of Balatro it seems like every other indie release is a remix of an innocuous classic game with rogue-like additions, this particular archetype of game has its benefits and challenges; the foundation of your game is strong as is, which means a big part of the process of conceptualization is basically done, the challenge is to make an experience that is fresh and fun without overdoing it and overpowering the fun qualities of the thing you’re remixing. The question, then, is whether Dogpile is successful in this ambition; if you’ve played any other rogue-like you will be in part familiar with the systems within the game, you have your individual modifiers that affect a single card, your multiple modifiers, you have the classics like “this card now gives you extra X of the specific currency” or “playing this card draws more cards” as well as some that could only work in a suika type game, all of them lovingly designed to be consistent to the theme, and speaking of which: You can buy dog tags at the dog store, you can upgrade or enchant you cards are the dog wash, when you don't meet your quota of bones (put a pin in these) you get disciplined, but again, this game is more than just well groomed, it can be quite difficult at times and to win you need to be aware of the board as well as your modifiers, some that appear to be exclusively negative can, just with buying a single tag, turn into run savers. Let’s go back to the bones, in this game you manage two currencies, you have your money and bones, the former is rather self explanatory, you get money by merging dogs and use that money to buy either tags or other cards, bones however, get a bit tricky; you need to meet a bones quota every so often, you get bones in the same way you get money, but if you don't get enough bones you are penalized, the run doesn't end but you need to pick one of two debuffs, the cool thing about being disciplined is that the possible debuffs are all no different from your negative modifiers, and therefore they can be affected by tags, so if you're clever and your built is right, failing a bones quota can literally win you the game. So, to answer the question, I think Dogpile does succeed in its ambition and is quite a fun game. If you want my recommendation I say you unlock the challenges as soon as possible, that's where i think the game truly shines.

Game is wonderful and new update is peak BUT it did brick steam deck controls---theyre buggy now e.g. cant move tags around without selling them, cursor gets stuck. Please patch, your game is so good and i want to play it without getting frustrated over controls.

I honestly cannot recommend people play this game at the moment, there are so many bugs and i cant even complete a single stage without the game softlocking me and then reseting me back to the start everytime. I love this game but it been really buggy since launch and the recent updates has only made it worse so if the devs cant fix their game i dont see any way i can recommend this game
