This game is difficult in the worst way. The enemies including bosses are all easy. The primary way this game is difficult is by wasting your time and testing your patience. Do you have the patience to put up with repeating the work of slogging through screens of boring enemies after a little slip and falling into an instant death pit? I don’t. I have too many games on my backlog to put up with this crap. The rest of the game isn’t worth dealing with the deliberate time wasting aspects

I didn't find this game to be very fun. There's some aspects I do like, such as the Zelda 2 inspired combat and RPG mechanics coupled with some decent looking pixel art, but I'm not a fan of the incessant back tracking and endless spawning of enemies whenever you move to different parts of the map. The inability to do half jumps also makes the platforming so much harder than it needs to be. It feels like they purposely strip away mechanics to make the game, "hard" when in reality it just makes it annoying and unfun. I don't necessarily think this is a bad game, just a flawed one.

really good mvania, some odd choices from dev, like jump only having one height (no hop on fast press). also the graphics can sometimes just feel...not 8-bit...it's hard to describe but you notice it. felt like art was drawn in something else and pixelated as an afterthought. i felt this way about the mountains in the background and many of the humanoid mid-sized monsters. still really really good mvania, i'd put it in my top 10 no question, and i have yet to even try co-op which looks badass.

Definitely worth a try at least once. Unlock all the endings, try out different characters. Deux or Die update is the clincher for me to eventually buy this game, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. If you like Castlevania series (especially if you like Portrait of Ruins), I bet you'll like this game!

What a neat game. I finished the basic game, got the Game Wizard password for
jetpack
, looking for more quests and characters.

Fantastic retro style metroidvania. Loved the dark setting and the overtly black and white moral "choices" when encountering demonic forces. Holding out hope for a sequel.

This game is perfect for anyone who love metroidvania games. Great music, and a decent challenging gameplay.

really enjoyed this one. control is tight, and thankfully the hit box is generous for the mace. there is also a lot of unlockable content, such as Contra guy, splatterhouse guy, jet pack, etc. bosses are rather easy, but that's ok. also really appreciated the castlevania easter eggs !

In front of You, our Lord, we swear to Christ, and never against Him, to protect the Gospel, to protect weak, for the truth, for the justice! I swear to devote my speeches, my weapons, my strength and my life to the defense of the mysteries of the Faith, and to the defense of the unity of God. I also promise to be submissive and obedient to the Grand Master of the Order.

I really liked the ingame morality system. I especially liked that going down one path drastically changes your attacks and gameplay mechanics, almost as to say that it's easier to fall to the temptations of evil. The only real issue I have with it is that it's kind of a short game. They mentioned in the game that there are other lands than Upel and I was hoping that one day I would take my conquest to those lands by my own hand instead of getting a lore dump that said I did so unopposed.
