Playtime: 903 minutes
I played Letter Quest when it was first released on XB1 and although I absolutely hammered it back then, it was more than worth a rebuy for my recent Steam Deck purchase. What you get: A 40 level campaign (appx 10-15 hours to complete) in which you unlock & purchase upgrades to help you on your quest and an endless mode complete with a Steam leaderboard. Note: Power-ups earned in campaign do not carry over into endless mode.....you start with a default loadout and upgrade along the way. Oh, and I also received the original Letter Quest with my purchase so two games (albeit almost identical) for the price of one! Steam deck compatibility: Remastered works in both docked and hand-held mode but the original Letter Quest is touch screen only with no community layouts available. My only minor gripe is the inbuilt dictionary allowing proper nouns...but you kind of get used to being able to use the 'word' Bolivia to thin out of a rack full of junk so all is partly forgiven. UK localised words (centre, colour, metre etc etc) are also included alongside American alternatives, so that's another bonus. All in all though, despite it's age I've come across very few letter jiggling games that have improved on Letter Quest, so for me personally it's a very, very easy recommendation.
