Elite Dangerous doesn't explain a lot and it is a sandbox. I was watching one or the other YouTube video and joined the Discord channel to ask questions. The community always kind and helpful, happy about new players. Mining Platin is crazy... Making millions and just bought myself the Krait Phantom. Haven't touched the PowerPlay 2.0 (Factions vs factions, fighting for Systems) but man... I enjoy it a lot. Sounddesign is 10/10

The absolute top-tier space sim on the market. It was touch-and-go there for a while post Odyssey, but after a huge 2024 and a 2025 that looks to be even better, we are so back! After playing all the other space sims on the market since Elite's launch, nothing can really match the OG. It's absolutely an acquired taste and definitely not made to please everyone, but if immersive space sims are your jam there's no game that offers this level of fidelity, depth, variety and smooth and stable gameplay. Be who you want, do what you want and go where you want in a giant realistic space sandbox and live out all those Firefly and Cowboy Bebop fantasies; its one of those games you that will make you excited to get up in the morning to play more.

Great game if you can figure it out. Think of it as a feature rich software with extremely poor documentation, there's so much depth to this game but it does a HORRIBLE job explaining itself, and good luck looking for information on it via your favorite search engine, you quickly run into 2 problems, 1. This game has gone through a number of iterations so not all info is relevant to the current version, and 2. The community is "touched". You'll notice nobody can seem to answer a question without nonsensical anecdotes, or meandering gibberish, its somewhat maddening. So if you like trial & error with a bit of punishment then you'll have a great time. The rest of you, you'll have fun, have no doubt about it, but this game will just tick you off because there was something that you would think was important information and it just glosses over it. For example, wait until you get your modules all knocked out and then you don't know how to mitigate for it, in fact it's a side-note in an unrelated tutorial that essentially goes "You can turn your modules on and off sometimes." lol wtf...

if you are looking for space combat that is thrilling and engaging, give this a crack. If you are looking for a space sim open sandbox game that lets you be what you want to be, this is the game. And with the Odyssey expansion you can run around on stations and/or planets. lots of fun anyway you play.

This is my first (and probably my last) ten year review. I have roughly over 6000 hours in this including console. I'll start by saying that this game has the potential to be one of the greatest space sims out there. One of the best things that made this game was the players and the fact that (no matter the size of group) could shape the narrative. This was back when David Braben was in charge. You could still feel the game's heart then. It's more corporate now... So know this, you can blaze a path, but it is the Devs trail you are blazing, not yours.

Man, Eurotruck simulator looks a lot more different than what i was advertised. Its a good u-haul simulator and apparently there's combat and exploration but i'm too busy playing intergalactic FEDEX
