This game... makes me so UNBELIEVABLY ANGRY! I hate this game SO MUCH. BUT I CANNOT STOP PLAYING IT. EVERYTHING IS FINE UNTIL U MISS A SINGLE TURN AND THEN EVERYTHING BACKS UP AND THE TRAINS GO EVERYWHERE AND THEY ALL EXPLODE AND YOU. LOSE. This game is 90% rage bait and 9% crying. But that 1% of satisfaction... I think it's worth it... unless that's just Stockholm Syndrome

Having played the sublime "Station to Station" a year or so ago, I thought I'd give this a try.
Similar kind of thing, as you might imagine, but a little less forgiving.
Lovely presentation, music is perfect for this type of affair and the building is satisfying and the prompt sounds are perfect.
The only thing is, while "Station to Station" pulled you in with ease and slowly presented challenges. "Train Valley" was a much steeper curve and unless you have a mind like an octopus' many gracious tentacles, you may easily be stumped, as was I.
The last level of the first page was impossible for me, so a few more levels and I gave up. That said, I had a great time for those two hours and may pick it up again when my mind is a little sharper.

I installed Baldur's Gate 3 nearly a year ago but the time pressure of two kids and work has meant I haven't even created a character. Train Valley now sits in my personal genre of 'Games I Can Play While I Make Dinner Or Have Half An Hour Spare'. While others, like Dorfromantik, lean more towards a casual soothing playalong in Train Valley you have goals to meet on a much shorter timescale. It's easy to pick up and aesthetically pleasing. You can get through most levels without much fuss but the real challenges lie with attempting to get five star ratings on each level. Like all good 'simple' games it can be incredibly frustrating and as a result very rewarding.
