Awesome art style, atmosphere and highly addicting. If you like incremental games, this is for you. If you like medieval dark fantasy aesthetic, this is for you. There's a bunch of secrets, puzzles and an ending or two. Really liked it!

Cool idle game with some classic adventure game style exploration & puzzle solving mixed in. The dark fantasy aesthetic is well done, the narrative is good if a little predictable and the puzzles are not too hard but some of them are quite clever. It's not too complex or long of a game but i enjoyed my time with it (note that most of my playtime was just my character going through the dungeon while i was doing something else) 8/10

My save got perma-softlocked at the end. Not a bad game otherwise and bugs are still being fixed to my knowledge, but I just can't give a positive rating after this happened.

Pretty good game that has a definitive end. Something that makes this instantly better than a lot of other idle games. Aesthetics are pretty great, the "story" feels like a real reward just in giving context to it all, and it doesn't overstay it's welcome. Definitely recommend it if you want something a little spooky with your grind.

Mid at best, terrible at worst. The horror point-and-click stuff does present some intrigue, but the incremental gameplay is borderline nonsensical, like it was just some AI output. The depth is paper thin, you basically just pump two stats and tediously grind dungeon floors to make those stats bigger for several hours. If the entire incremental part of the game was removed, it would be a mediocre point-and-click adventure horror game. With it, it's genuinely just a waste of your time.

Great game, loved the puzzles, and was satisfying enough to 100%, which is not super common for me at least

Great game, a short, but curious combination of retro, dungeon crawler, horror, auto-battler, clicker and puzzle genres. Horror elements are wrapped in a chilling and surreal atmosphere. The storyline and the conclusion is finely crafted, creative, attention was made to the small details - in overall, probably one of the best surreal(ish) titles of this year. Puzzle elements are logical, not endless, nor overly complex, they can be solved intuitively. The clicker/incremental segment is luckily not overdone in design, there are no endless [strike]cookie[/strike] clicks and no need to grind for years, as the game can be completed in around 10-20 hours. Comes with a cool soundtrack, which really enhances the atmosphere. Absolutely recommended!

I really wanted to like this game, but it feels very unbalanced and short. I didn't enjoy that more than half the bestiary goes unappreciated because the fights are going by so fast that you barely see their art let alone experience what's different about fighting those monsters. Items, pets, and half the perks went pretty much ignored. None of the puzzles really grabbed me besides getting confused with the spider. All in all, I really wanted some aspect of the writing or mechanics to hook me in, but by the ending, I just wanted my money back.

TL;DR: A strange, atmospheric mix of idle/incremental progression, dungeon crawling, autobattler elements, and light puzzle mechanics. Not for everyone, but very enjoyable if you like slow-burn indie games with a dark mood. Horripilant is a small but surprisingly engaging game with a very specific identity. It combines incremental progression, resource gathering, combat, exploration, and a mysterious underground atmosphere into something that feels unusual in a good way. The strongest part of the game is its mood. It does not rely on cheap scares, but instead builds a quiet, unsettling feeling as you descend deeper and slowly uncover more of its systems. The gameplay loop is simple at first, but it becomes satisfying once the upgrades, battles, and progression start connecting together. It is definitely not a game for everyone. If you dislike idle mechanics, repetition, or slower pacing, you might bounce off it. But if you enjoy niche indie games that experiment with different genres and reward patience, Horripilant is easy to recommend. Overall, I had a good time with it. It is weird, atmospheric, and charming in its own dark way. Recommended, especially for fans of incremental games, dungeon crawlers, and unusual indie titles.
