Great game, amazing art style and graphics, and it runs really well! I really love how much attention to detail has been put into everything, from the character models and environments to all the small objects throughout the world

I had a lot of fun playing PRAGMATA. The gameplay is very polished. It's a third person shooter on a moon base, where you aim by holding the trigger key or button, with a dash mechanic that can be used to dodge. You spend all your time fighting robots. A core part of the gameplay is the hacking mechanic, which is a little minigame that appears on a corner of the screen, where you move around a 2D grid going through hacking nodes, and avoiding error nodes. It's an essential part of gameplay, because without it, you'll do very little damage to the robots. It "opens" them so that they reveal their inner parts. Straight out of the box the game detected my mouse with its additional mouse buttons and automatically assigned the thumb button to hacking, and it's perfect. It's so intutive and easy, and after a short amount of time it becomes natural. Aim, hack, shoot. It's a fully integral part of the gameplay that you'll do continuously, and you unlock different modes which either enhance the effects of shooting or hacking or both. You also unlock different hacking nodes that apply different effects to the enemies. There's a good variety of enemies and weapons. I found the difficulty just about perfect. I found the game became harder and I would die occasionally, and then overcome it on re-attempts by developing better tactics. It's fundamentally a tactical game, insofar as your choice of weapon loadout and hacks and mods affects your gameplay and how easy it is to take down a new enemy. Things which appear impossible or difficult are actually not, once you realise how best to take down that enemy. The game auto-saves regularly and there are escape hatches at regular points in the levels which allow you to go back to the base to upgrade. This means you can upgrade your abilities whilst playing a level. Your character doesn't level up per se, but after completing each level, the base (or shelter), which is a safe location where you can do your upgrades, gets upgraded, meaning you can upgrade your suit and weapons to higher levels. You collect upgrade components in the levels, as well as lunafilament (lim) and pure lunum, both of which are required to upgrade your equipment. You also unlock more hacks and weapons throughout the game. You can go back to any previous escape hatch, to look for secrets or missed items, and in earlier levels there are inaccessible areas that you later unlock the ability to get past. There's additional post-game content available immediately. Every level has a boss that you have to get past, and the post-game content involves defeating more difficult versions of those bosses, as well as completing some additional challenges, which unlocks an advanced weapon. Following that, you can do lunatic mode, where all the enemies are much more difficult. There's also a new game plus, where you get to keep your upgrades and continue playing from the start.

I played the game start to finish. I didn't complete all the challenges. I did collect all but 2 of the map loot items. Would buy a sequel if one came out.

Good game up until the ending...
Unless what they were going for is a tragedy, then it definitely achieves that objective, but Hugh's action is super selfish if you have any media literacy. Hugh basically traumatised Dianna for a second time losing a parental figure, AND sent her to earth with no one to vouch for her/look after her. She is either 1. Going to perish with no one around or 2. The Government will pick her up and definitely NOT treat her like a normal human, she is basically a super weapon... Either way she is doomed on earth, especially without Hugh. They tried to have a sad ending but it ended up just making me confused and angry...
The rest of the game and especially combat is great though. But the story is DEFINITELY not a strong point, and it markets itself as a story rich one. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth, in otherwise a nice game.

Pragmata is a great game with an emotional story, an android you can't help but fall in love with and want to protect and Hugh, a rough dad-type guy who will do exactly that. With her on your shoulder, you explore a derelict space station and try to find a way to destroy an AI gone mad and go back to earth. The story and presentation were great and I definitely got emotional a few times, but the gameplay deserves mention too - to really damage enemies, you need to hack them with Diana, which works with the face buttons while you also have to move, shoot and dodge. It's an interesting concept that feels like it engages both halves of your brain at the same time, and as the game goes on this actually gets quite difficult. To help, there's several different weapons and tools, plus mods that enhance stats or grant improvements, and hacking nodes that can stun or confuse enemies. The gameplay is fun and the game runs very well too, thanks to RE Engine actually being used for it's intended purpose of smaller areas. And if you want more when you finish the game, as it's rather short with a playtime of about 12 hours, there is an additional challenge mode where you can do sim missions and fight enhanced bosses, or you play New Game + with the unlocked Lunatic mode. Either way, Pragmata is a great game with just the right length and an emotional story to boot, worth playing and I hope we will see more of this IP, either in the form of more games or DLC!

I decided to write the review only after getting the platinum. It took me around ~35hrs to 100%. Its a very good game, loved every bit of it. The combat is so unique with all the hacking mechanics. First playthrough was p chill, then after u beat it u unlock the "lunatic difficulty" and THATS the real game imo (if you like a decent challenge), its a completely diff experience like, even the first mobs WILL one clap you since they have like 3x HP/DMG and you start completely from scratch with 0 upgrades so you cant just gun'n'run like standard difficulty BUT you do get most of the weps unlocked for printing at the shelter right from the start which helps a LOT and theres some extra weps exclusive for NG+ that is also cool. Theres also the "unkown signal mode" game mode which is like an extra post-game content to get the "secret/true(???) ending" and you dont need to start a new game+ to access it, you use ur 1st playthrough save after beating the final boss, which is p cool. I was lf for this game and had very high expectations and those were gloriously met. The story is so good, i highly recomend it, even if youre not going for 100% Im also glad the added the scribble suit from the demo right when i started newgame+, that suit shouldve been in the game since day one as an unlockable but better later than never i guess. Now im depressed cuz my journey is finally over. 10/10 game You win Capcom, ima convince my wife to have kid...brb...

Pragmata is a beautifully presented game, that I thoroughly enjoyed the story and game play. The game play was fluid and problem free, with zero crashing and zero issue with the mechanics within the game. That said, I dislike the ending of the game. I love the idea of it, but the game missed the mark. I cannot express exactly why without spoiling the game, but it is my only complaint, and not enough to regret buying and playing the game. In short, Pragmata is a beautiful and enjoyable game with a progression and story that is worth experiencing. The one aspect I dislike is not enough to ruin the overall experience and I definitely recommend this as a one time play through at least.

This is a tough one ... I really liked the game for the first half or so, as you're discovering new things and progressing the story and unlocking new equipment options. Then the back half hits and it's just ... more and more of the same. Walk into a room, group of bots spawns, kill group, kill next group, go to next room, group of bots spawn, kill, new group, kill, new group, kill, new room, repeat. It felt like each new variant or mechanic did nothing to make the game more fun or challenging, only more tedious. The hacking was a really neat idea, but it just got old so fast and it's essentially mandatory to engage with to at least a minimum degree in order to do any damage at all. Will some people enjoy this game? Obviously, look at the review numbers. And fwiw the good parts were good. The character interactions were nice, the set pieces looked good, and overall, predictable though it was, the story was fair. It's not for me though. I'm going to tough it out and finish clearing this last level, but it's been a slog for the past 6 or so hours just finding the motivation to clear one more sector. Is it a bad game? Not at all. Do I personally recommend it? I just can't say yes.

The moon was never the destination, the journey was. Pragmata is a rare new IP with memorable characters and a dynamic that kept me invested all the way through. I came for the sci-fi, stayed for Diana, and left convinced that Hugh deserves a permanent place in the Space Dad Hall of Fame.🌙🚀
