This DLC is the evilest thing I can imagine. I've just now completed the third (out of 5) levels, and it took me at least 5 hours, if not more. This is not only because the levels are much longer than the ones in the base games, but because they're much, much harder. Even the easiest level in the DLC is already harder than anything you can find in the base game. Buy this DLC only if you really, really like a challenge and are not afraid of failure (well, the same thing can be said about Cloudbuilt itself, but this time I really, really mean it!) and don't get frustrated after having to try the same level about 150 times. Sata- I mean the devs outdid themselves by not including any fixed checkpoints, so placing the flags (which you find at barely accessible places) is all up to you.
Other pros include unique visual themes for each single level and new music, which I dare say is even better than the music in the base game.

I cam back to change this to a positive review after putting a negative one from being salty. Look, this game is hard as hell, and I can't stress that enough. It's designed to dick you at every turn. You'll be pushed to the limits. You'll feel that red hot anger. But you'll feel so satisfied and complete when it's done.

This is probably the only time that I've heard people complain that the DLC is priced too low. And you know what? I would have happily paid five for this, and that means a lot considering how thrifty I am!
In terms of gameplay, this DLC adds five new levels, each of them significantly longer (some of them around 3x longer than the longest level already!), and each level adds new techniques, obstacles, and other incredibly creative challenges. The new elements added are wonderfully brilliant, if not hilariously sadistic.
Just a warning though: these new levels are HARD. It's a monumental task just to complete them, much less doing so with a speedy time.
Overall, I couldn't give this DLC a high enough score.

An absolutely fantastic addition to an already great game, this DLC adds new enemys, fantastic level themes/design, new obsticals to contend with, and the burtally difficult game play we expect has been cranked up to 11. I'd easily pay double what they're asking for this.

Sadistically difficult and a true test of patience. Unfortunately, extra content like the assault mode is locked behind these levels so I can't recommend this.

Brutally hard.
I worked on beating a level for four days, and when I finally managed to pull it off, it still took around 250 lives.
They give you 300 lives at the beginning of each level. You will be very grateful for those 300 lives.
Buy it if you want to know the definition of difficult.

Defiance adds 5 new levels. These levels are extremely difficult. If you are considering purchasing this DLC make sure you are able to complete the base game first. There are no checkpoints besides the kind that you place down yourself. So you should plan out where you will use your checkpoints. Defiance is well worth the $2.99. It add a few hours of gameplay, and the dev's stated "for normal humans, this DLC is not meant to be beaten in one evening". If you didn't enjoy the level Redeployment then you maybe shouldn't purchase these maps. I personally love the levels even though they were a bit frustrating at first.

Let me warn you this dlc is very hard compared to the base game. It will take you time and practice to complete, but it is doable and unlike most modern video games, it will give you a sense of accomplishment. For the price and for one of the very best games ever, I recommend it. Just be aware you can't imagine how hard it is until you play it, but don't give up. I would buy this again and again. I hope they make more cloudbuilt, I love this game so so much.

This DLC is very, very good, and well worth the price (honestly, it should probably cost more!)
However, this is DLC is specifically designed for players willing to dedicate a lot of time learning and understanding the game. I've had many many MANY hours of experience with Cloudbuilt, and it still took me a significant amount of time to get through every one of these new levels.
If you're looking for a well-designed, extremely difficult challenge with awesome music, then you should definitely pick this up. It contains some of the most challenging platforming I've ever played, and it was well worth it.

Cloudbuilt by itself is quite a difficult game -- one of the most difficult and most skill-based games that I've played, for sure. It will take you plenty hours of trial, error, and skill-building just to complete. By the time I had gotten S rank on every normal level, I'd thought I was a master of this game and would be able to tackle any DLC that came out for it with confidence. I could just breeze through even the hardest normal levels, right?
...Then Defiance happened... It took me dozens upon dozens of resets to complete each level, to say the least.
If you're up for a truly hardcore gaming experience, buy this DLC. It's well, well worth the money.
