An experimental short from the creator of To the Moon & Finding Paradise: A simple & surreal 1-hour interactive animation about a boy and an injured bird, told without dialogues. If you're looking for To the Moon-like experience, I'd suggest playing Finding Paradise first.

The amount of power this story has in such short time is hard to describe. Play it.
TLDR: 6.5/10 Not a Game and More of a Short, Interactive Story. It’s Charming and Gives Some Character Backstory for Finding Paradise

Actual Review (No Spoilers)
Got it on sale for 74 cents and that's about how much it's worth. By itself, it's not very good, as It eventually starts to drag on. But it still gives good backstory details for the character that gets expanded in Finding Paradise. It's entirely dialogueless which works well because it's short enough for that to not be a hindrance. This game's story is very fragmented and nonsensical at times, but retroactively it makes a lot more sense after playing the sequel. 6.5/10

wholesome, and a beautiful heartfelt story, but unfortunately not much of a game. It's pretty much a cutscene with small interactive snippets, with delayed controls too. Only good for extra Freebird content, otherwise just skip to Finding Paradise honestly.
Neutral review ...
I have mixed thoughts on recommending or not. STORY: A kid finds an injured bird. Takes it to the vet, looks after it, teaches it to fly again etc etc etc ... Whilst it is a quick game the story is very drawn out with little actual game-play. It's primarily a series of cut scenes after another with hardly any player interaction. It is a cute story with pleasant pixel graphics. There are a set of Trading Cards but none triggered in the 2+ hours of playing. Will keep the game running now to get them. If this game appeals to you then I would recommend getting in a sale.
A Silent Tale of Friendship and Imagination
A Bird Story is a short, emotional, and visually driven game that explores themes of childhood imagination & companionship. The pixel art style is charming and expressive, conveying emotions and narrative beats without the need for dialogue or complex 3D graphics. The beautiful soundtrack plays a crucial role, enhancing the emotional impact of each scene. There is very little to control, but it's still great. It's less of a game and more of an emotional story designed to evoke empathy and reflection on the bonds we form with others. Took about 90 minutes to complete. Get it on sale! Score: 9/10 Life Lesson: Sometimes, the greatest stories are told not with words, but with the gentle flutter of wings and the silent understanding between two souls. 🕊️

I kept thinking to myself while playing that this game felt so similar to , and finally found that they shared the same creator haha. It isn't a sad story, though. It tells a warm and nostalgic poem even without any subtitles. And I really want to say: I love the music! Peak!
