I really like this game. But I personally would have wanted more chess lessons.
Little wonky combat, and a sweat and shallow storyline.
Love the Future diary concept and DDLC references.
Overall a good 7.5/10 experience.

I don't usually review games, but this piqued my interest.
The game has similarities like
Doki Doki Literature Club
, but it has it's own twist and I would say that while they did a good job executing it, I feel like they're lacking something.
Story telling is fine, but I hope the dev(s) didn't follow the
iconic DDLC storyline
and instead make a fresh way to make the player guards down and amplified their anticipation on what's going to happen. For example,
when the player and Rin going into Irelle's room and found her hanging is predictable, especially for someone who have played or know how DDLC story goes,
resulting the impact from the sense of dread is not really there. There are some moments that managed to get me, and I wish they do something like that more without following
DDLC
too much. Since the game have a chess element to it, would be cool if the story have something to do with it too.
Visual arts are nice but still unpolished on some parts. There are minor grammatical errors, no standard visual novel functions like save/load, fast forward/skip, history/log (important for me), etc. As for the combat system, it's something that I didn't expect in a normal visual novel. While yes it is still rough, but if the dev(s) manage to improve it, it'll be an interesting experience.

Riddled with grammatical errors and uninteresting dialogue. The story both feels rushed and far too reliant on tropes, but is also incredibly dragged down by tedious menu changes in order to progress between each scene. Suffice to say, the UI is clunky and it has no staple options as standard in visual novels like chatlogs, autoplay, text speed, etc. It's 'inspired' by, or lifting huge chunks of Mirai Nikki and DDLC, and the chess themes are pretty on the nose and trite. Art is nice, but the sprites are switched through poorly and have no solid writing.
Play MiSide or You and Me and Her instead. I would drop this game even if it was free
